Question for Waitlist Experts

Hi,
We booked a 1br at AKV for the last weekend in Sept (5 nights) and waitlisted a standard view 1br at BLT for the 5 nights.

We made the reservation about 2 months ago, well after the 7 month mark.

What are my chances for BLT really?

I know anything can happen, but are we talking about a long shot or even money?

The BLT stay would be more points. So if I cancel the waitlist I can add a night to our Jan trip. I just can't decide.

well Sept is definitely a good month to waitlist.

that say you might not get anything until Aug - or it might not come at all

I think the most movement would be right before the 30 day mark, so you may not know until August, as Spicy suggests. If that weekend includes the beginning of F&W, you have less of a chance since that's so popular, if it doesn't I think you have a better chance. I would wait a bit, and if it doesn't come through and it's August, you still have a chance to add the extra night to January. January isn't a particularly busy DVC time.

I just noticed that you're waitlisting for Standard view, since there are so few, my guess is that it's a long shot. I hope I'm wrong!

The BLT Standard view is the hottest commodity at BLT because of the reduced points. Your odds aren't great because there are people waitlisted ahead of you (about two months worth) You could probably book a MK or Lake view but its more points.

We booked at 7 months and were waitlisted for 1 week and that was for this past April but we did get our Standard view which had a view of the lake and Space Mountain. We saw the fireworks every night from our bed. It was well worth the pain of booking at exactly 7 months.

I tried exactly the same thing last year for our trip in November and waitlisted right up until 7 days before but it didn't happen.

It doesn't hurt to wait longer but it is a long shot.
