OK, I now have a 32MB card and the 16 that came with the camera. I am getting ready to order a 64MB card and am wondering just how much space I am going to need for this trip. We are spending 3 days in the WDW area before our 7 day cruise and have 2 kids. This is our first trip to Disney. Should I get 2 64s or will that be going overboard. Our digital before this didn't have any removable media & only held 12 pictures so this is new to me. Thanks a bunch!

2 64 would not be unreasonable. I use 2 128m ones and have filled one on the 7day. It more depends on what size you have the camera set to save the pics in.

How many pictures is it telling you it can take with a 32m one?

No the two 64 cards isn't going overboard. We did the 7 night land and sea pkg last year. I took 69 among the hotel and four parks, and 117 on the cruise. But I take pix of EVERYTHING... including the chocolate souffle on my dish at Palo!

Jen, I took a picture of EVERY dessert we got at Palo (and we got one of every dessert) plus a souffle for each of us :) Made a page in my scrapbook of just desserts!

You might want to consider getting one 128mb card as it is usually cheaper than buying two 64mb cards.....I also agree with the previous posters....you can never have too many cards as you never know when you might need them, besides, they are small enough that it would not be an inconvenience to carry them with you......Andy

Well, I was wrong...I have a 64 MB. It says 1 megapixel 182, 2 MP 71, 3 MP 53, 4 MP 32. Which is the best? I do want to have my favorites...probably all of them...printed out.

2 mp will get you good 8x10's without any digital grainyness. You definitely want more memory cards. On our last 7 day we took a bit over 300 pictures.

I'd look at a 128m one and bring the rest for backup.

Well, this camera doesn't list the 128 as an option, so I don't want to take the chance of messing up one or both. I think that I will get 2 more 64s. That will allow around 210 pictures and of course I will have the regular camera too for backup. Now I just need to find some rechargable batteries. Thanks for the help!!!

You can always check with the camera store to see if your camera will allow you to use the 128mb card and if so compare prices of 2 64mb cards and 1 128mb card and go with the cheaper one ..... Andy

Another option is to bring your laptop to dump the pictures onto when your memory card gets full. I took two 128 cards on my last 7-night cruise. They hold 80 pics each in fine mode, and they were both full when the cruise was over.

Find out what size your camera will accept. If it will take 256, then go to ebay and go to auction. You can get one for about 60.00dollars. Even if not check ebay because they are definitely cheaper. And brand new too. I bought 2 256ers and can take all pictures i want. By the way my camera came with a 8mb and i was able to use 256. Hope this gives you ideas.

Lisa, more memory, more better!!!!

We took a 128 mbyte, a 16 mbyte and a 32 mbyte for our 4 day cruise with two days FL vacation afterward. All our memory was COMPLETELY full, and that included deleting the things that didn't turn out.

I've never been willing to drag a laptop with me to download pictures onto. That's a lot of weight that I could use for more clothes!

Get the memory cards. You'll kick yourself if you have to delete pictures you're not sure about! And those rechargable batteries are a must. The display screen on the camera EATS the batteries!

No laptop so no problem with the space. Thanks for the battery info!!! I will take the book etc into a shop with me to make sure about the disk size.

I took to 64mb and the 16mb that came with my camera and I used it all. But I take ALOT of pictures. I also took pictures of my food. Plus I took an underwater camera for snorkeling.

On the battery thing, if you get rechargeable take along a spare set of regular batteries for when your others are recharging. I always keep 4 AA in my camera bag, just in case you forget to recharge.

Happy "clicking"!!

I have a sony dsc-p10, which has 5 mega pixels. I have the 32 mb card that came with it and I bought a 256 mb card, I don't think I will have enough! I would rather be safe than sorry, so I think I will pick up another 256 memory stick. I paid more for the 5mp camera, so I don't want to shot at 2 or 3 mp....I want all 5!

I would buy a 256, that way you will always have enough memory....:D

I can take 100 pictues one day at WDW and I LIVE here. rofl. So memory is a big issue with me. That's why my laptop is taking the cruise with us. Plus we figured we could play some Disney DVDs when we are relaxing in the room.

What kind of camera do you have? Maybe that would help us help you.

We did the land sea in August, 3 days in WDW and 4 DCL. Like Auntie I have a sony dsc-p10. We shot all our pix in 5mb cause we want the best quality of shots in this memorable vacation. Here's what we have: a 32mb (comes w/ camera), 2-64mb, 1-128mb, 1-256mb and a 16mb (from a previous sony digital camera). You know what, we used every single memory stick! Bring more, I believe some of the cards are now available in 500mb size, I know the new magicgate memory stick comes in that size now.

I think that the difference for this is the camera is a 1.3 MP. That is probably why I can't use the larger cards. Not complaining because I got a good deal on it & it will serve its purpose on this trip.

I usually take up a 256. I take lots of pictures! I also take the highest resolution pictures I can. I have a 4 mp camera and usually get about 120 pics with this. I saw a 256 card at Sam's last week for $49. and a 126 or what ever that # is for $44. Has anyone else seen these and know what quality of pics they take. The gy who sold me my original 256 say all cards are not created equal. Does anyone know if this is true?
