Hi,

We're driving up from Miami to WDW this December and want to do the Scenic route that I believe goes through part of the everglades, partially because it avoids the tolls but mainly because we've never seen the everglades and it's a good excuse to see them.

Does anyone out there have the route we would take? A route in Google maps would be great but if not then a good description so we can program it into out US Sat Nav would be good too.

Not long to go now, can't wait! :)

Not sure if by scenic - you mean I75 route - which cuts across the Everglades via Alligator Alley (Everglades Parkway) to Naples and then travels up the west coast to join the I4 near Tampa. An alternate route would be US27 around Lake Okeechobee and again join I4 just past Haines City / Davenport

I traveled up the US27 this august very flat surrondings and altough you go past lake okechobee you never see it as it has large banks around it , the only way we knew we where going past it was because you can see it on the sat nav . This route did give you plently of small towns to stop at though and was not as boring as going down the highway which we did on the way home .

Another one who has done the US27 route, nice and easy and toll free but not that scenic (imo) Its a great route if you want to have a couple of stops on the way, as Wildwood said, you pass through lots of little populated areas.
