Question for those who stay onsite only

Earl of Sandwich in DTD to die for....I don't know if they take dining plan but you can spend what you would or a little more if you went to McDonalds or BK. My fave is their pineapple/BBQ sandwich, they have fresh salads, deserts, everything all made right there :thumbsup2

Agreed - they are a QS restaurant, but also an inexpensive OOP option...

we eat CS for every meal whenever we go and never get sick of it...we aren't huge burger fans, so there is SO much more than just burgers and chicken nuggets to be found at CS at Disney...I've never gotten tired of all they have to offer.

We always stay onsite-mostly AKL or WL, and eat mostly counter service.

Sometimes we do a sit down at lunch (cheaper that at night at some of the "better' restaurants)-because i plan which park we start the day at. Afternoons we wing it , so i dont like to plan the night meal.

There are PLENTY good counter service in all the parks:)

We often go and only eat counter service, never having a hamburger or chicken nuggets. I find plenty of variety at places like Sunshine Seasons and especially World Showcase.

We always seek out counter service that offers things other than burgers and chicken strips. If you check out the menus at allears there are quite a few good ones. Columbia Harvest house in MK and Sunshine Seasons in Epcot are some of our favorites.

...and don't forget Earl of Sandwich at DTD....:thumbsup2 YUMMY!

We just did the Quick Service Dining Plan last week and we did not eat one burger. I used All Ears ahead of time to check menus and found restaurants ahead of time that had yummy, non-fast food type options.

Places we really loved: Port Orleans Riverside food court (their salad station was my favorite), Sunshine Seasons at Epcot, Columbia Harbor House at MK, and we had a delicious italian sandwich at Pizzafari at Animal Kingdom.

There are lots of great non-junky options available.

I agree there are many other options Flametree in AK is also a great choice

I agree that you can get a good variety of CS food in the parks. We generally ate breakfast in our hotel room-we had a fridge so we had milk, juice, yogurt, etc. and had cereal, fruit, etc. as well as snack foods. We usually had a CS for lunch and a TS for dinner. We didn't have to plan our day around TS's. We opted for later serving times, 7:00 since that was 6:00 central time which is when we usually ate at home. If we happened to be in a different park then where we had our TS, we just rode over to that park to eat (we had park hoppers). It was really easy. For the most part though, we were back in our our hotel room resting and just took the bus to where ever we had dinner.

We tend to eat one counter service and one table service meal a day. I know last trip none of us ate a burger/fries meal the entire trip. I agree with looking at the menus on allearsnet. Also depending on kids I will sometimes skip the kids meals and let them share an adult meal and just get an extra drink.
