Question for those who have used the DDP @ Cali. Grill

I just read today in a dining report that the California Grill allowed each person on the DDP to get an app., a 1st. course (salad, etc.), entree, and dessert. I had thought I misundersood (sp?) what the poster was saying, so I asked and was told this was the case. Has this happened to anyone else or has anyone heard of such a thing?

We have used the DDP twice now at CA Grill and we were not offered a first course and an app. We could have 1 or the other. It was still a TON of food!

just returned, got an app, entree and dessert, it was alot of food, and good service.

Also just returned and we got one or the other. They changed this somewhere between 2001 and 2003. When we were on the DDP in 2001 we got both app., and soup OR salad, entree, dessert,bev. and coffee.

Yep either or. Two of us got Sushi and two got Salad, then our entrees and desserts. Yum!

Ate there 3 weeks ago on DDP. You are allowed any kind of sushi. This is a change from February.

Even the Yoshi deluxe platter? That was the only one that was disallowed as an appetizer the last time we went.

That's extremely generous, magsmom. I would warn folks against counting on being as lucky, until we have more evidence that they're being that generous to everyone, now.

We dined there 8/31 and were only (ONLY??? )allowed 1 app, 1 entree and 1 dessert each. Between DH & I we got a Triple Cheese Flatbread and a Hearts of Romain Salad. They did split the salad onto 2 plates for us, but it was still just 1.
