I have a question for those who have sold their DVC through the Timeshare Store or similar type reseller. How long did it take you to make the initial sale - meaning someone expressed interest and put down a deposit and you signed initial paperwork? I don't mean how long it took until you got your check. How long until an interested person purchased?

My points are up for sale and I am just wondering what the average turnaround time is. I know it varies depending on DVC location and number of points so please just reply with your personal experience.

Thanks to all that reply.

I think number of points is key.

I have sold the following

100 OKW took about two weeks for the offer to come in and be accepted. (At asking price)

50 HH, never even made the TSS website. Couple of hours?

50 SSR. Listed LATE on a Saturday. Monday morning the broker had at least five phone calls asking for those points!'

In all of the above cases things moved quickly after the offer. For SSR the broker told the buyer that the deposit had to be there ASAP as there were back up offers. All of the others paperwork and everything proceeed smoothly. I don't know when the deposits were received, but closing was not delayed in any case.

We sold 25 points at the Beach Club. I think we got the phone call that it was sold within a couple of hours. It was amazingly fast, so much so that I thought we priced it too low. I agree that the number of points is the key. Smaller contracts sell very fast.
