Question for those who bought Aulani

Just wondering when are you planning on staying there. Can't decide if I want to go on opening day or wait until the resort is completed. Any suggestions? The 11 month reservation window is coming up so I have to make a decision.

Well I work in school, so when the resort opens that will be the begining of the school year. I will be patiently waiting till August 2012, because I want to stay for two weeks.

Thanks for your replies...looks like most of you are waiting until 2012....might have to do the same...thinking of a WDW trip in Dec 2011...and Aulani August 2012....now I don't feel so bad about not going on opening day...

I'm not buying at Aulani (yet...) but we're hoping to book at the 7 month mark for Thanksgiving 2011!

We are planning a September 2011 trip, so you won't be alone. Probably won't be opening week, but we want to get there before the month is out. I think it's fun to stay when the staff is still fresh and excited. Plus, there won't be many rooms open yet, but all of the amenities are scheduled to be open (restaurants, river, etc). Thus, just a few guests will have the RUN of the place!

And of course... someone has to go first and post photos and a TR for everyone else here. If I have to "take one for the team" well, that'll be a burden that I have to shoulder. ;-)

DH and I are thinking of going September 2011 also. We were concerned that all the amenities wouldn't be open though. I see you mentioned that everything would be open. Were you able to confirm this? It would make us feel better going September 2011 if we knew everything would be up and running....we'd hate to go if there was still construction everywhere. Any info on this? Thanks!

We own at a different resort but I'm wondering if they let you top up your points from a different resort and if so what is the minimum you can buy at Aulani? Are there still Aulani points for sale? If you buy, can you book right away? (assuming you are within the 11 month timelines...)

We have a group of nine that want book sometime from Dec 16 - Jan 6, 2011 and I feel certain that we won't be able to get in at the 7 month mark...
