Let me open by saying I understand something will always be "coming soon" or under refurbishment at WDW and I never make travel plans expecting a new attraction to be open. We presently have plans for early June but I am considering delaying this trip and want to know how others feel.

Given early June was about 6 weeks past announced Rivers of LOLight opening, I was excited that this would be available for our trip. But with uncertainties (again, I wasn't expecting any of these to be open) of FEA, Soarin' and the new Star Wars fireworks, our vacation feels devalued.

We booked a vacation late May/early June in hopes of Star Wars Weekends, then that evaporated after the time off had already been approved at work, so we're going anyway.

My feeling is that it's like buying a new computer. My husband always hesitates because he's sure that as soon as he commits, a new model will come out that's faster, cheaper, and has more bells and whistles. And it will. But with that attitude, he held onto a frustrating clunker of a laptop for years after it really had become a paperweight. At some point you just have to make the leap, with the sure knowledge that afterwards lots of good stuff will be introduced - that you can take advantage of next time.

There is still plenty to do, I'd go for it. Bonus if any of the new things are open, no big deal if they aren't since you've never seen them anyway.

15 of us will be there 5/26-6/3. No, I'm not happy Soarin is closed and Frozen and ROL aren't open yet. But, they did postpone the refurb of one of our fav's, BTMR, so that helps. I've secretly wished our trip was a year away but I don't want to wait for the new things. I know we will be back even if it's a few years later, then we can experience the things we missed this time and will probably be awaiting the opening of other things. This is for my daughter's graduation celebration so when we get there I'm sure we will thoroughly enjoy what we are able to experience and never miss what we didn't do.

Same here. But that was ok, because Rivers of Light was opening April 22nd and we'd get to see that. Nope, that's out of the picture too.

We're still looking forward to WDW of course, but I'm really hoping Disney doesn't cancel something else on us.

We're going May 20-June 2 and I do kind of feel like this was maybe not the best time to book with all the uncertainties, but it is what it is and with our plane tickets booked and everything paid for, not much to do but go and have a good time!

I do, ofcourse, wish the ROL thing had worked out in the timeframe they originally intended. I know they will be announcing something in May/late may and we may still be able to see ROL (fingers crossed!), but it's so up in the air and my itinerary is kind of incomplete and will stay that way until last minute which I really hate. I also really wish that we knew when FEA was going to open and when A&E M&G would move to Norway so we could make FPs for it (my DD6 would love that!). Until then my Epcot itinerary is incomplete too. Plus it was really unfortunate that I wasn't able to make FPs for wishes and MSEP because the date that I did my FP's they had decided they weren't going to offer them anymore. I'm also scared that lines for attractions may be very long because I keep reading that with the budget cuts, they are running only one side/track of things in the morning and because of that line waits are building like crazy. With memorial day crowds and the start of the summer crowds I'm apprehensive about how that is going to go.

But what I am so happy for is the Big Thunder Mountain will be open during our vacation as that is one of our very favorites!

The silver lining for me is that I will be back in August for a girls weekend and will be able to see ROL then if need be, but really would have loved to see ROL with my family too.

Tis true that the good news is BTMR refurb was pushed back during this time frame.
Staying hopeful that at the very least Soarin' and RofLOL will be live.

Our trip is May 27th-June 3rd. I am a little disappointed that there hasn't been any announcements about Soarin', FEA, and the A&E meet and greet. We aren't going to AK, so ROL doesn't effect my planning. It's not enough to make me wish my trip later though. We are planning around college schedules, work schedules, and school schedules so this was the only time to make it work. I'm was just thankful when we found dates that worked for everyone :D. The push back of BTMR refurbishment was a nice surprise too. My youngest wasn't tall enough to ride it our last trip. I know we will have a great time even with the closures.

We'll be there May 30th-June 6th. We were hopeful for some of the "new" attractions, but not a big loss this trip. It will be our sons 1st trip and he's not quite 3, so I don't expect him to have those lifelong memories this go around. Plus this trip was kind of last minute as we were going to go to Myrtle Beach. After making reservations, we quickly realized how much everything was going to cost once we figured up food and entertainment costs. For about $500 more, we're going the Disney route instead. This trip is more for seeing our son experience Disney 1st hand for us.

When we first booked I was hoping/assuming that FEA would be open and was letting my obsession about will it/won't it take over for a while. But now that I've booked my FP+ for everything, and told the kids (who have never ever heard of FEA and so don't know what they're missing), I'm reminded about how that's just one thing on a list of about a 100 and now I don't care whether any of those "extras" are open in time. (With the caveat that if the EPCOT Frozen stuff isn't open, they better leave A&E in MK so we can still meet them!!)

I think your question is asking of others are considering delaying their planned trip. While I'm sure you can probably find someone else who may, I'm not even considering it.

We will be there May 28-June 1 as originally scheduled and can't wait. It's going to be awesome!

We are going the first week of June, and I have found this trip to be probably the most frustrating to plan of all the trips we've taken. I want to be able to make my FP reservations at 60 days out and, other than maybe some minor changes to FP or dining reservations, have things be pretty much set. But this trip, I feel like I have to constantly watch for news and check for changes to FP availability. I have a bunch of ADR's I would like to pare down, but I have so many contingency plans that I'm still waiting to do that. I'm afraid to miss an announcement and be locked out of FP for the new Frozen stuff or Soarin. But, we're locked in to our dates. We couldn't easily change our DVC reservations, we have school calendars to contend with and we booked our flights. No matter what, we will go and have fun. I just hope that, if the new stuff does open before we get there, we don't have to miss it.

there is plenty to do at disney even with ever thing going on I go about once a month ( 50 days last year) and I still find new thing or things I have not done in years at disney I would go and have fun. when they open the things they are doing now ROL soaring the new frozen ride you will be wanting the new things at HS to open there will just about always be new to come some things bigger then others

My trip is seven weeks away. We're practically in the homestretch now! Cancel ...heck I'm ready to start packing :hyper:... this is going to be the "best trip ever" :goodvibes

If you have that kind of flexibility in your schedule, then do it. Most people don't have that. They pick a time and go with it. Whatever is available to do, we'll have fun doing it.

We are there June 4 - 11. I do think that some of those you mentioned will be open/available...best bets are FEA and new SW fireworks....hearing lots of Soarin rumors lately but not counting on it and who even knows about ROL at this point. But, no...we are not delaying. First off, we haven't been in 4 years. There are lots of old favorites and some new stuff, too. My kids are little so it will be a first trip for one and a first trip with memories for the other (he was 9.5m on our last trip). I will really enjoy it from their perspective. Also, we are planning a June 2017 trip so anything we miss we might catch then. And we'll be back again in a few years after that.

Basically I've waited for 4 years to get back and my boys have waited their whole, albeit short, life, so we don't want to wait any more than we have to! :)

But, to each their own...everyone has their own experiences and perspective, so do what you think is right for your family.

Considering RoL and the SW fireworks are new, the only things you'd be missing out on would be Soarin' and the Maelstrom. So ask yourself, "would I skip a WDW trip on account of those two rides?"

Going May21-27...booked before any of the star wars or ROL announcements were made. It will be DH's first time there so more excited to see the look on his face when he gets there...plus it's been a while since I've been there myself. So everything will be new to him with a few things new to me as well. Fingers crossed there may be some soft openings but if not who cares!! Just being there is gonna be worth it! :)

Daughter and I are going May 31-June 5, not ideal perhaps but hoping to beat the worse of the summer season out of school crowds and heat. Knew of many of the closures and uncertainties of the time period when I booked several months ago, so I was aware and thus not feeling visit in undervalued. Plus still of plenty to see and do that we enjoy, that will be our focus, not what we can not experience. I have 15 WDW/DL trips and each one was not perfect in terms of crowds, weather, construction, rides closed/broken down, so we go in understanding limitations and enjoy what we like and take any changes in stride as chance to visit WDW and the cost means we simply can not go enough to work around every limitation, it just is what it is. If I really was upset or frustrated by closures, construction and other limitations and concerned about the value, then I would just make the decision not to visit.
