Question for those that use Wen Cleansing Conditioner

I just watched the video for fine hair, which I have. Does it take a long time to wash your hair? Is it recommend for use everyday?

No longer than washing with shampoo, rinsing, putting on conditioner and rinsing. You're just combining the two steps into one. I put on the cleanser, work it in, add some water and work it in a little more and go about the rest of my routine. I rinse very well at the end of my shower.

You could use it every day, but many people find they can go every other day or every three days.

Thanks. The video was going on about rinsing, massaging, adding more product, rinsing, massaging, lol. I am going to order it soon.

LOL....I just watched it, and I noticed that! It's not necessary, IMO. Just be sure to use enough product and rinse, rinse, rinse. If you don't like the way it works, the next time you try it, try using more product. Most people use too little and end up hating it. You have to find the right amount for your hair.

I have long dry hair, a little frizzy and Wen made my hair uber soft the very 1st time I used it. Subsequent washings were no different than using a drugstore product :confused3

My dd7 has very fine, dry hair. It is just past her shoulders. When we brush it, 5 minutes later it looks like it has never been brushed.

Will WEN help her, or does anyone have any recommendations?

Are you saying your hair went back to being dry and frizzy after the first wash? Did you use the same way you did the first time? How much product did you use? Which WEN scent did you use?

It might help her. It's hard to say without her trying it. Chaz has a kids line coming out on QVC the first week of October. There will be three scents - watermelon, apple and a pumpkin one, I think.

One of my DD's friends works in a salon. I don't know what brand of haircolor they use, but a client who had been using the Wen products came in for color and the color/Wen reacted with each other and totally fried her hair. Lawsuit pending.
since I color, this has talked me out of trying Wen.:sad2:

Not doubting that it happened, but I color my roots every 4 weeks, and I haven't had any kind of reaction during the 4+ years I've been using WEN.

Yep it went back to being dry and frizzy! I have the coconut mango one.

How much product did you use when you washed? It may be that the coconut mango is not moisturizing enough for you. If you're willing to give WEN another try, I suggest trying the Lavender.

I've been thinking of trying Wen...I get my roots colored every 4 weeks, my scalp and hair are very, very dry. Which variety of cleansing conditioner would you recommend?

First, I'd definitely talk to your stylist about trying a different brand of color if your hair and scalp are dry after coloring. I have very resistant gray, and my color is usually on for an hour, and I don't have this problem. I've been going every four weeks for years.

What is your hair like? Fine? Coarse? If it's Fine or Normal, I'd go with Lavender or maybe even Pomegranate. If it's Coarse, I'd try the Fig. Because you are having some scalp issues, you might even benefit from Tea Tree.

I will talk to the stylist, thanks. I think it's more of an age thing than a color thing. I used to have super oily hair when I was young, and it's gradually been getting more and more dry as the years go by. My skin's gotten dryer, too.

My hair definitely isn't fine, somewhere between normal and coarse, I guess. It's very thick, shoulder length. I usually wash it every other day or every third day, using shampoo and conditioner a couple of times a week, co-washing in between. The co washing has definitely helped, which makes me think the Wen might work for me.

Your hair sounds a little like mine, but it's not as thick as it used to be. I think I'd give Lavender a shot and see how it works. I've heard good things about the Pomegranate, but I haven't tried it yet. The Fig was way too heavy for me. If you've been co-washing and like it, then you're right, WEN might work for you!

I haven't experienced the drying skin yet, but I have noticed I don't have as much hair as I used to. One line that I really love, in addition to WEN, is Joico's K Pak. I use the Joico moisturizing shampoo and condition, along with the K Pak Intense Hydrator and Reconstructor occasionally. I just take a look at what my hair's doing each time I go to wash, and adjust accordingly. Some days it's just WEN, and then some days it's the full-on K Pak treatment. The less I blow dry my hair, the less I have to use the Joico products. I've been doing lots of air-drying this summer, so my hair has been pretty good.

My hair has both color and highlights and it as been no problem at all. I also have 2 friends that get professional color and use Wen as well. Could it have been an issue with the coloring product and not the Wen? I have never heard of that before, and have read tons of reviews on all the Wen products on the QVC website, :confused3
