I think I'm going to give a 6 month Netflix subscription to my parents as a Christmas gift......

As I'm going through the check out, it says something like "now give the gift". I'm wondering if it will immediately send out an e-mail to them (I'm sure I'll need to give their e-mail address) with something like "Welcome to Netflix".

I want it to be a suprise, do you know if it sends out an e-mail to the "givee"? If so, I'll just wait until Christmas morning to sign up.....

TIA

When the transaction is complete, you can choose to email the gift cert directly to the recipient or print it to give yourself.

I did this last year or the year before for my brother ... it's just an option to do that, you can print it out yourself. I printed it out and then made my own certificate on Photoshop with the gift code on it.

Be aware, though, that when your parents go to redeem their gift they will be required to put in a credit card number. That doesn't bother me, but some of the older generation don't like putting their credit card out there.

We are giving the same gift to my IL's and I figure that when they are ready to start their subscription, I will go over their house and put in my credit card number so they don't have to.

Yes even though the first six months will be gift by you , the subscription will continue if they do not cancel it after the six months.
