I am trying to plan meals for early Oct. and am not being able to get some of the PS's for the times I want already! So, my question is: if you go without PS's, where do you eat??? I don't want counter service all the time! I also will have a car, but don't really want to drive offsite! Any tips or suggestions??? :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Wehave been here for 6 nights- did not have a single ps when we came- ate in Artist Point, Matsumona Lounge, snacks in the park one night- turkey legs e-night, Boma, Cape May and Biergarten - all at reasonable times. They do hold space for walkins so if you are not successful target a restaurant- and pick a back-up such as Yakitori house or Tangierine cafe.
If there are things like character meals those could be tough. Good luck. Susan:jester:  ;)

We rarely make PS's, so we often eat off-hours. Now that our kids are grown we usually go for a breakfast bar in the hotel in the AM, a mid-morning snack in the park, then a late lunch at a sit down place. Then we have dinner after leaving the park, often in one of the resorts. The dinner can be as light or hearty as we feel like. This works for us partly because we go at slower times, and the parks are not open that late anyway. We have had many excellent meals without PS's!

We've been on many trips and have never made a PS ressie. I've also never been to Cinderella's! We eat breakfast in the hotel. Snacks midmorning. Some counter service for lunches or do late lunch at a sit down. Sitdown Dinners at Artist Point, Le Cellier, Mexico, West End/MarketPLace. We also plan for early or late meals so not to get in "rush hour". We go more off season now. Planning my meals months in advance is just CRAZY to me..I don't get it. WE did make 1 ressie for the Polynesian breakfast 1 time but the day before (or sometime on the trip). We've only been turned away 1 time on this last trip in early December at LeCellier and it was during "dinner hours". We walked over to Mexico and got in in 20 minutes. We have a kid now so I'm sure our dining plans will change in the future with more character meals requiring a ressie..not looking forward to that!! I think adults can dine more easily without PS.

I have walked into sit downs at off hours. I also attend in the offseason and love to go to a sitdown rest. around 2:00 or when everyone is lining up for a parade. However, there are certain rest. that I would suggest you to get PS's for, ie. LeCellier, Garden Grill, Chef Mickeys, California Grill, Cindy's Royal Table (for breakfast - but I have done walk in for Dinner), Liberty Tree Tavern, Tony's Town Square and Sci-Fi Dine In. I have found that these are the places that walk-ins will wait for (some will wait 10 mins and others will wait for an hour). I've had PS's at 2 of these and showed up on time to wait 15 mins behind many other PS's.

We did not want to have a reservation that restricted us so we had much luck in entering the restuarant, getting their direct number and going outside to call for reservations on our cell phone. We didn't think it would work when we first tried it at Liberty Tree, but we walked out, called, got reservations, and walked back in to wait 10 minutes.
