I'm trying to decide which day to go to Universal and Sea World. I have one Sunday open for either park..which park should we visit on the weekend...which one on a weekday? (We have FOL passes for Universal.)

Is the morning commute worse in one direction....North to Universal or South to San Diego? My son called me this morning en-route to Sea World and was stuck in stop 'n' go traffic.

Hmmm... well, you're going to hit some traffic, either way. But, if it were my decision, I'd go to Universal on Sunday and Sea World on a weekday. You'd at least rule out the biggest traffic headache, heading up to LA on a weekday. Ugh, I did that for years and it's awful! So glad I work closer to home now.

I agree. Driving north to LA during the week is awful. Picture LA as the center. Most people are commuting from the outer regions (where housing costs a bit less) into the city. So traffic is especially bad coming north from OC in the morning and worse heading south to OC at the end of the day.

There is also the valley commuters heading south to LA and then going north at the end of the day, but that won't affect you as much.

Definitely Universal Studios on a Sunday so you avoid the traffic. I ahve done San Diego runs and have no problem if I leave at night and early morning. If you were coming back from 3 -7 pm then you could face traffic. The only problem I have encountered was a police matter down by Oceanside which was unavoidable of course. San Diego has a nice drive and you can stop and San Onofre for a break and there are some nice towns like Oceanside for rest.

Thanks for your help. So it's Universal on Sunday and Sea World during the week.
