Question for those in the know re: ticket brokers for WDW

I've been researching a purchase of MYW tix and have come across a 14 day Ultimate Park Hopper ticket that appears to be the same as the old UMP previously sold by WDW. It includes all 4 major parks, all minor parks, PI, DQ, and WWoS. It expires 14 days after first use--which isn't an issue for us. We will be at WDW for 11-12 days and would rather have the flexibility of the old LOS (UPH).

The tix are available through DiscountOrlandoVacation.com and I'm just wondering if anyone has utilized this broker before and whether the experience was positive. The price is great compared to the old UMP through Disney AND it affords the flexibility we desire--provided the broker is reputable. Is there any downside to ordering from a broker vs purchasing from Disney? If the passes are lost, stolen, accidentally destroyed, etc.--what is the procedure? Also, can these passes be encoded onto the room key if they are in hand at the time of check-in?

If anyone has information, I'd love to hear it!

These work much the same way as the old 10 day World Pass did. They are tickets that are targeted by Disney to the international market (UK specifically) but that are sold domestically by a few of the wholesalers. They are quite genuine.

Discount Orlando Vacations has been around for a while and has received considerable positive feedback on this board and others.

These tickets cannot be put on a resort ID. If you lose the tickets, you must supply Guest Relations with the the identifying numbers from the back of each ticket in order to get them replaced. Most people just photocopy the backs of the tickets and keep that copy in a place other than with the tickets. These tickets will use the biometric scan just as MYW tickets do.

Another tip I use for keeping track of wholesaler purchased tickets....

When I receive the tickets, I scan them on my computer as JPEG files and e-mail them to my Yahoo account.

I then save the e-mail. If we would ever get in a bind, we would not have to worry about having the photocopies with us or possibly phoning home to get someone to look up the number for us. All I would need to do is find a way to get on the internet (practically everywhere now) and pull up my yahoo e-mail for the information.

Just another tip.....

I took the plunge and ordered the 14 day Ultimate Park Tickets. The tickets are really more than I need--we only needed 11-12 days, but 10 day would have been more restrictive than we wanted. For a mere $39 more p/ticket we gained total access to all parks/minor parks/DI, PI, and (who cares) WWoS.

Thanks for the reassurance that the discount places were legit! I'll also take your advice and photocopy the passes before leaving. We can keep these in the safe at the resort and replace them if they become damaged on Kali, Splash, or just the usual Florida downpour! :) I, personally, have had my PAP demagnetized and rendered useless so I know it's not that uncommon. Keep those puppies away from the scanners at the cash register and out of the hands of CMs who are inexperienced in renewals! :earboy2:

Almost forgot this little story. . .last year when I was renewing my PAP (and thus having it rendered useless by a careless CM ;) ), a fellow visitor was speaking with Guest Services. His dilemma--they had left their prepurchased hoppers at home in Indiana. The passes were securely locked in his safe and all 8 family members were in Florida! :earseek: All that Disney could do was to sell him new tickets. They said he could "try" and return the hoppers after his vacation and maybe receive a credit. This guy had major money tied up in those passes--I'm thinking somewhere around $2,000--and had to find a way to get some extra $$$$ to purchase new passes. Moral of this story: Heed the advice you posted above and make sure you have those copies AND don't forget your tickets! I know it's sure made me paranoid about keeping them in a place where I will not forget them!

Thanks again guys!
