Has anyone out there tried those heating things from Playtex (?) that are supposed to help with menstrual cramps? I bought a pack a couple of months ago and just used one today. they are supposed to last for 12 hours. Attach to the OUTSIDE of underwere. You can definitely feel the heat. I was debating on putting on the front or the back (because I seem to get crampy in both places) and chose the front. They do keep you toasty, but I don't know if they are helping (along with the tylenol) with the cramping that much. Anyone else tried these?

I've tried them. They don't have much heat, I don't think. I can't tell they help much at all. They've got the muscle relaxing things too. Same principle. They put out some decent heat. I've thought about trying those.

Women's Tylenol works best of all the things womenly that I've found thus far. And they help with my sinus congestion too (I know, weird, but it works:) ).

Have you tried ALEVE? Prior to it becoming an OTC drug it was the most prescribed med for menstrual cramps - Always check with your DR first but I will tell you that ALEVE is 200mg each tab and its dosage is at most 2 tabs then 1 tab 12hours later = 600mg/day

When it was a prescription they came/come in 275mg and 550mg tabs. The average script was 1- 550mg tab every 12 hours = 1100mg/day - and the recommended dosage should not exceed -1375/mg day for menstrual pain.

Alot of women I know have had great relief with the aleve taking 2 tabs (400mg) every 12 hours - but always check with your Dr first.

I've done the ThermaCare ones, and I love them. Not as good an a good med or relaxer, but if you can't take the pills these really help me get through the day.

i've also tried the thermacare ones...works wonderfully for me!!! i have always found that a heating pad works wonders on my cramps but it's not that easy to conceal a heating pad while at work!! ;)

these do the trick for me...along with 2 aleve...

I suffered with bad cramps for years. When I was a teenager, I actually threw up. I got a prescription for Motrin, didn't help much. About 7 years ago I went to a new GYN and she gave me a prescription for naproxen, which is Aleve. Worked wonders! I take 550mg (over the counter is 200mg) every 4 or 5 hours the first day. I used to dread that time but now it isn't so bad.

Well, it's been 6 hours and the thing is still warm. If nothing else, it's keeping me warm.

I've tried Aleve and it doesn't do much for me. :(

I've tried the thermacare ones but not the playtex. The playtex just doesn't look like it will be big enough. THe ones I have used work great for me and really have helped me live with pain when otherwise I'd be stuck on a couch.

I suffered terrible cramps for years, and threw up also. It turns out I had endometiosis.
