I don't know who told you it's not humid but it always has been when we've been. some days I just had to walk out of the hotel and I was frizzy (think Monica from Friends when they went to Barbados :scared1: )

I always take my straighteners, although they didn't work too well with difference in voltage. Last year I bought a pair of Nicky Clarke International straighteners for Worldwide use and they are fab - my hair looked better out there than it did back here :thumbsup2

You might not want to stump up for another pair of straighteners but if your hair is prone to frizz in the damp, you will definitely need to take them - they just probably won't get as hot as they do here.

haha no one told me that it wasnt humid, iv been there 4 times before and my hair went afro lol! i think il still bring them with a transformer for voltage!

Glad you posted this one!! My DD and I (im DW by the way in case you thought DH used straigheners!!) both use them and the last few times we've really noticed the voltage difference with them not getting very hot! Does anyone know how much straighteners cost out there as we go quite regularly and may be worth investing in some, either that or we both shave our heads like DH LOL!!

You can now buy GHD's that are 110v/240v so that may be an idea if there are two of you to share the cost.

here you go
http://www.target.com/gp/browse.htm..._18/602-2551744-4987806?ie=UTF8&node=13828331

the chi ones are equivelent to ghds

rather than take your own I'd buy some over there due to the voltage.
I did this for our last trip, I think they were something like $20 from walmart, only a basic ceramic straightener but they were actually really good. I didn't want to risk blowing up my ones from home, I can take my US ones with me every time now, they are quite small and I just put them inside on one DH's shoes in the suitcase, packed in with socks to protect them.

I looked like a puff ball without them so for the 1st day I was walking round with my baseball cap firmly stuck to my head! ha ha!

Love this post!! I have stuck to baseball caps in the past but as travelling with exDH this time around :scared1: need to spruce myself up a bit!
