Question for Star Wars Weekend Experts

Is it true that a lot of the limited edition merchandise sells out the first weekend? Or is it that only so much is available every weekend and once it's gone it's gone?

I know last year I called to order the Star Wars Weekend Jedi Mickey beanie and they were all sold out. I found them on Ebay with Darth Mickey selling for $40 for the pair I don't want to spend that much. I have a friend going the 1st weekend this year and was wondering if I should give her some cash to bring stuff back.

They only put out so much of the limited edition merchandise each day of Star Wars Weekend. The Darth Mickey last year was handled very badly. They so under estimated the demand.

Your friend may have to stand in line for several hours to get the limited edition merchandise. Last year, there was a line to get into Tantooine Traders. I stood in line one morning for four hours before giving up. One evening a couple of weekends later, I managed to get into the store in an hour.

They do sell some of the merchandise at other locations around the park.

Last year they sold out of some of the limited edition merchandise the first weekend. It's not a foregone conclusion it will happen again this year. One would think that they would be stocking much more.

If merchandise is important to you, make sure you do your buying in the first hour the park is open, especially the stuff at Star Tours as the store at the end of Star Tours will be the most crowded.

Anything that is limited edition sells out quickly. My gut feeling is the watches shouldn't go that quickly but if you really want merchandise, take care of it early in the day.

I'm not Star Wars merchandise guru but it seems alot of the limited edition merchandise is not available elsewhere and is made specifically for this event.

I have not heard about Darth Mickey this year, although they would be foolish not to release it again. They will definitely have a Darth Goofy plush. Love Goofy, but he just doesn't have as much appeal as Darth Mickey!!!

Last year, you had to get Darth Mickey from Tantooine Traders. It was a mess trying to get in there. By the time I finally got in, they were out for the day. I hope they have a better plan this year.
