Question for Southern PA folks

One of our truck drivers was killed in an accident involving one of our trucks while he was delivering a load to our Virginia stores. The memo that went out from corporate only stated that he was killed in the accident in Southern Pennnsylvania, (this would have been Wednesday into Thursday).

Knowing that our grocery distribution center is in Pottsville and he was heading into VA, OR he was coming from the Rochester warehouse..we figure he was around the Harrisburg area or south. Does anyone know anything about a fatal truck accident involving a Wegmans truck?

We don't even know the guy personally but he worked for the company for 20 years and it is really sad to think we lost one of our own this way.

So sorry to hear about the accident...looks like it was near Harrisburg (Mt. Joy is about 1/2 hour or so away). This was all I could find in that local paper.


Wegmans truck driver killed

A Wegmans truck driver was killed Wednesday night when his truck flipped in southern Pennsylvania. According to the Pennsylvania State Police, Phillip F. Daiutolo, 44, of the Rochester area was pronounced dead at Gettysburg Hospital after the 10:15 p.m. accident on state Route 15 in Mt. Joy Township.

Police said Daiutolo was driving south in the right lane when he clipped the front of a car while attempting to merge into the left lane.

OMG, I heard about that on the news. So sad!!!
