Actually, I'm a "seasoned" eBayer myself, as in I've been registered and using them for almost 5 years now. But when I've sold stuff, it's the odd thing here or there that I don't want/need anymore and I can make a few bucks.

For those of you here on the DIS that "eBay your way to WDW," did you just get lucky or has anyone read the books on how to really make money on eBay? I'd like to make it more of a full-time endeavor than just the every-now-and-then stuff, but have NO clue where to start.

Any advice?!?

TIA!

Sell what you know. Seriously. Go to yard sales and thrift stores and look for bargains. I started off selling my kids outgrown things so I knew which brands sold better than others so I would go to yard sales and look for the good brands for cheap and in excellent condition.

98% of what I learned about selling I learned here, honestly. After about 6 months I did purchase some books- but found the real exp. here to be more informative. This was about 3 years ago-- and I have made a nice supplemental income at it.

The only way to do it is to find out what items you can obtain cheaply in your area that will sell on ebay. Yard sales and estate auctions are good sources. Start off just selling things around your house that you don't need or want anymore.

Also don't try to sell anything you know nothing about. If you don't know what it sells for, don't buy it. A little research will help you with this.

Only advice i have is to sell what you love. It makes the listing easier and you are more motivated when describing. I sold a Lily Pulitzer skirt from a thrift store for 44...I pd 50 cents. I sold Littlest pet Shop crab for almost 16 and pd 4. I LOVE kids clothing and toys.....

Hi there - I consider myself a "seasoned ebayer" LOL

I have checked out the "ebay for dummies" and how to ebay type books from the library. They were good for the basics, but I wanted the nitty gritty. I have found the most help, information, support and suggestions from the discussion boards on ebay. There are a whole bunch that are devoted to what you sell. I mostly sell kids clothes (I have two so that's what's overflowing in our house!) and there is a children's clothing board - kinda like this one - where there are tons of sellers sharing ideas. very helpful group of women (and a few men). Takes a little while to get over that learning curve, but I would jump right in! I have also been on the Clothing and Accessories board as well.

It just depends on your situation - there are boards for crafts, scrapbooking, purses/shoes, disneyana, cars, you name it!

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions - my selling id is polkadotladybug (on ebay) -

Best of lucK!
