I have the freebie account with photobucket..I have "clicked" on the properties of quite a few posters large pictures (not in your signatures just when you're posting a reply/question etc) I can't seem to make mine large at all...Do I have to have the pay/pro account to be able to make the pictures as large as yours? It's like $1.95 month it says, so how do I pay? All at once for a year or post a payment every month or...:confused3

I will patiently wait popcorn:: TIA

Ruthie

As far as I know, Photobucket doesn't make pictures larger than your original source photo. It can make then smaller by using their photo editing feature.

You need your own photo editor or another site capable of doing it, to make a photo larger.

Then upload it to Photobucket to host your picture for linking.

I will try that Thanks ! :thumbsup2

Nope that didn't work.......anyone else ?

OP, I, too, have noticed that. It didn't use to be that way. I think they changed it so you do have to pay extra to get larger pictures.

That may be right :confused3 I mean $1.95 would be worth it maybe another Disser here will come along & explain it. I can't find anything on the site as far as if that's true & what kind of a committment...I have enuff comittments :lmao:

This is a copy I made of your picture. I put it in my own photo editing program, enlarged it because it was so tiny, (that's why it is all fuzzy & pixilated.) Then uploaded it back to photobucket. Nothing wrong with the picture sizes at photobucket. :confused3

Here is my link: http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l267/Imzadi102/bdf8628c.jpg

I don't know what you are doing. According to photobucket, your picture is in the TINY size. Are you choosing that size as you upload?

Cute dog by the way! :)

Wow thanks for taking the time to do all that...here's what I am doing I just send the file as an attachment using the email address they assigned to my account then the only other thing I do is click the link to share & get the link to post the pic here using the choice bulletin boards & forums. I tried to re-size on photobucket site using the edit but this was as large as I could get it :confused3:confused3

As far as the dog..thanks Gilbert is a Redbone Coonhound and quite a character

I wonder if sending it via email is causing the program to resize it so small. Have you ever tried just uploading directly from the site? Once you go to PB, go to your home page and you should see a button like this one:

Try uploading that way, maybe, and see if it gives you more options. FWIW, I have never paid for a pro account and have no problem uploading large-size photos (well, as large as PB's restrictions will allow, but it's still a lot larger than the pic you posted, OP.)

Good luck! :)

The pictures I had on originally I uploaded the way you're saying it was still this size :confused3 I am starting to get very frustrated...it was only yesterday I found on their site the email option so it's got to be something else, & probably so simple I just can't see it :badpc:

OK, then maybe try this-- under the Upload images and videos button there's a link that says "more options." If you click it, you'll be able to set the default size at which your photos will upload. I have mine set right now to upload at 640x480 so they're not obnoxious when I post them on forums & such. Non-pro dimensions go all the way up to 1024x768; if you need bigger than that, that's when you have to upgrade to pro.

HTH!

I'm wondering that too. :scratchin Like your email program is compressing & shrinking your file. Are you emailing from a phone? That could be shrinking the picture too. I've always downloaded directly from my PC. :surfweb:

Using my adorable grandson's picture as an example (cutie!) this is the size that my photos show up if I post them here on the DIS. There are options to resize it smaller for signatures and whatnot. I've used photobucket for ages and I don't pay anything for it. All I do is upload (or download-I don't know if I'm using the correct terminology) my photos from my camera to my computer. I then go to photobucket and use the upload images box. The photos look small in the photobucket photo album, but they show up large if I copy and paste it to Disboards.

ETA: The pictures you see in my signature would also be this size if I hadn't resized them.

Another cute doggie!

Now go fix the other one so we can see what the dog really looks like when he's not so fuzzy. :)
