Question for people with Disney Visa...

Hi all. I have had the Disney Visa card for a long time and I cannot believe I am just now wondering this…when we are visiting WDW, I have always linked my Disney Visa to the room and charged everything on our KTTW card. Should I have been bringing the actual Disney Visa and charging things to that since I would have gotten 10% off purchases? Ugh…I think I may not like the answer to this question!

I just returned last week from SSR. We were not issued KTTW cards. Same procedure though everything was on our magic band. So you can still charge to your room.

IIRC, there are only a few locations where your actual charge card will be of benefit; World of Disney and Mouse Gear and the purchase must be over $50.
I would definitely take my card with me! We've had the unfortunate experience of the Disney system failing and denying our room charges. In which case the purchase(s) were put on the card itself.

If this isn't correct, I'm sure someone else will chime in. I nearly always use my Annual Pass discount as the % off is the same and it's good at more places.

Yep, that's been my experience as well. Of course, generally, my Disney Visa reward dollars have paid for everything we've bought during the trip, so it hasn't been an issue. The AP discount works just about everywhere though, and we can still use our KTTW so we use it instead these days. (And is the reason I will take 3 trips in 12 months, no trips for 16 months and then 2-3 trips in 12 months. . .)

Just to add, there are a small number of restaurants at WDW that provide 10% off with the Disney Visa, too. Plus there's the photo op at Epcot, so while it doesn't provide a whole of benefit, it's not totally negligible either.

I've gotten the 10% discount everywhere in the parks that I spend more than $50. And I always try to lump all my shopping together at one store to get that discount! I have a trip coming up and (I think) in a recent email from Disney, they suggested several times to bring my Disney Visa and remember to use it.

Thanks everyone! I hate to think of how much I should have been saving all this time…oh well…next time I will definitely bring it!

It was a few years ago, but while I was at WOD, I was given the discount by just showing my card, I didn't have to charge to it.

I was joking with the CM at the register, saying I couldn't believe how much I always wind up spending - do you have any coupons? And she asked if I had the Dis Visa. I said yes, but I didn't want to add any more to it and she said I didn't have to charge to it, she could still give me the discount.

Of course, as with all things Disney YMMV and terms are subject to change at any time without notice. :upsidedow

Very cool!!! I just got mine this week! Going to start putting all gas and groceries on it to get some points for our trip.

Speaking as a cm in merchandise I can tell you this was a mistake. To get the 10% you are supposed to use the card and the total needs to be 50$ before tax. This perk is good everywhere merchandise is sold. If you get a cm that doesn't know this it is listed on the discount screen if they look for it.

So how many pictures can we get free. One per day, one per resort stay? Does anyone know? We have a split resort stay so can we do two? A friend and I are going together and staying in the same room so can we each use our own cards or can we only use one per room ressie. How many characters are there. Do the pictures include all of them or just one. Thanks

It's one per day, only at Epcot (Innoventions West). They're there from 1-7 every day. It used to be only until 4, but I guess they were swamped. It's a really nice 5x7 that you pick up at the photo place by Spaceship Earth.
It's one photo per group, so if you want to have your friend in your photo, you only get one. But you could always get a copy that you'd have to pay for, or just go again another day.

It's become our annual family photo, and this year we added a new member. It's been wonderful seeing our family change through the years with Mickey.

Pictures are one per day per account. I had two cards and could get two pictures per day. And they will take many pictures with different combos of people.

The past few times I've been there it was Minnie and Goofy but I have seen Mickey and Pluto there, too.

We've gotten one photo, but the last few years the lines have been way too long!

Our last trip with the mb we only had to show our card to get the discount. We had our disney visa in file anyway. Before the mb we had to charge things to the card to get our discount.

I have learned and when I do not forget - to ask if they accept DVC, Disney Visa, AP or AAA for any discount. I do carry all the cards with me (including my DL).

The discount is only for merchandise correct? Not in restaurants?
We're not really big on souvenirs. I'd love if they gave a restaurant discount.
