Geez, I have never traveled with a baby for more than a couple of days. How the heck do you figure out how many diapers to take? What he's going thru now, will be totally different in 7 months. Do I buy a case and pack the whole darn thing? My little ****er will be 14 months old when we go. Any help would greatly be appreciated:goodvibes

I would pack enough for the first two days and buy the rest when you get there - if you're staying on site and using ME make sure you have enough for the first day. You could stop (if you have your own transportation - or a driving service) or order from one of the various places that deliver food/supplies.

Just an idea but..... why don't you wait till it gets closer you have quite awhile! By 14 mos the amt of diapers they use will be decreased a lot. You won't need as many as you think now. If you take them it makes great room for bringing home junk in the space they took up.

One more vote for wait until you get there. Diapers take a lot of space. Unless you have special allergy considerations or other issues requiring something special, I would just buy as much as you need from a supermarket once you arrive.

hmmmm. I'm not sure about 14months vs. 6months, that's how old DD was. I know we bought a pack of number 3's when we got down there and 9 days later when we left we only had 2 left. How's that for planning.:thumbsup2

We had 1 left for the return flight home, if there had been a delay I would have been screwed :rotfl:

But I agree take your own, they are expensive and only Huggies is available in the hotel shops. Then you have some room for souvenirs.

What I have done is about a month before we go I start a daily log.

Every time I change a diaper, I mark it & by the end of the day I see how many I have used & then I do that for a week.

I change a ton of diapers each day so I bring alot.

I then add 2 diapers to each day & I bring a whole extra day of diapers with me.

I do take a lot home but I'd rather take home then not have enough.

You can pack them in a suitcase and have room for souveniers on the way home -- very good, because your case is somehow never as neat on the way back. Or you could ship them to yourself at the resort.

Make sure you figure on the hot weather when doing your calculations...your baby may be drinking a lot more and therefore doing other things a lot more! I swear, a few years ago, I was changing diapers on the hour!!

We can have 2 check pieces of luggage each on our flight, we are litterally taking a bag and that's for diapers and some other stuff. Im bringing a pack of 74 diapers for DS who is almost 6 months old. About 6 diapers a day times 7 is 42. Plus I will bring some more from home for our carry on as well. Pampers is what DS wears, Huggies dont fit him right, but if we had to I could put them on him.

We traveled often before DS and DD were potty trained.

I in no way would wait to buy diapers in WDW. They are very very expensive. And even if you have a car, do you really want to spend it driving around in an unknown place looking for diapers?

I kept track of how many the kids used per day and added a couple on. I took them out of the package and lined my suitcase with them. Wasn't a big deal I thought.

Actually our WDW trip in June will be the 1st with both kids out of diapers. What a great feeling! :thumbsup2

I brought a whole case to Dl for 10 days (18mo baby) We had some left over, but I figured better safe than sorry on vaca. My baby has a sensitive stomach, traveling does funny things to her. Anyway, after you use the diapers you have extra space for souvies!

we are going to WDW in April with are 10 month old and I keep track of how many diapers she uses in a day so ill take that number of diapers plus about 20 just to be sure I have enough. I dont care that they take up alot of room that just means I have alot of space to bring home everything I buy.

i like to use cloth and pampers, cloth is easy and washable

If you're driving, I'd stop and grab a pack or two at Walmart just before I arrived. If you're flying, I'd buy a pack or two the week before we left and just UPS it to the resort.

I did this with my twins when they were 13 months and we headed to the beach for the week. I just shipped the case to the rental office we used for the beach house.

We shipped diapers, wipes, sippy cups, snacks, extra sunscreen, etc. to our hotel. It was there when we arrived and we didn't have to worry about packing it in our luggage!

How much did something like that cost to ship?

I'm not sure since my husband shipped it. He's not here now, so I can't ask him. I would search these boards to see if anyone else has asked this question. We shipped a pretty big box (diapers, sippy cups, snacks, wipes, sunscreen, DD's "floatie" for the pool, toiletries, and probably a few other things). We combined our WDW trip with a trip to a friend's house in Fl., so we were there for almost 2 weeks. It was worth it because other than the pool "floatie", we didn't bring any of it back with us. I'm guessing less than $15-$20.

I bet that buying diapers in WDW would cost you twice as much as buying them at home. If you are going on a long trip, I would ship anything that you won't be bringing home with you. It's that much less you'll have to lug through the airport and into the hotel.

Whatever you decide, have a great trip!!
