Question for Owners Locker Users

I posted a similar question on the Owners Locker (OL) board a few days ago, but it doesn't seem to get the same kind of readership that the DIS boards do.

I'm wondering about OL users experiences with getting their OL delivered to their rooms along with their Disney Magical Express (DME) deliveries. I'm going to meet my OL for the 1st time next week. As I understand the process, I'll be told that my OL is waiting for me at Bell Services and I can retrieve it once I check into my room. My DME luggage will be auto-magically delivered to my room without any special effort on my part.

I asked if Owners Express had ever thought about trying to coordinate DME deliveries and OL deliveries. My thought was that some sort of a special sticker (probably purple) could be attached to your luggage to alert Bell Services that a partner OL locker was also waiting to go to the room.

I realize that Owners Locker cannot force Bell Services to coordinate this, but we as DME and OL users could assist in re-training Bell Services through extra tipping for extraordinary service. All Owners express would need to do is provide the special purple stickers to people who request them.

As a 1st time OL user, I really don't know if this idea has merit or is even necessary. What do you experienced OL users think?

Thanks in advance.

When we were at BWV in August, I did have to call down to BS and have them bring up my locker. It was brought up the same time as my groceries. I think that it will get easier for the resorts as they see more and more of these purple lockers. I know that BS wasn't at all sure what the heck I was talking about when I called down.
I certainly wouldn't want to add another step to the whole DME process. I can just see it...them trying to match up lockers with the luggage that DME just delivered...nope, too many areas that would slow it all down. I think that if we stop at BS and alert them to the fact that we have a locker to be delivered to our room, when room is ready, they may do a better job of getting it to us. But, I have to say....I just love my purple locker. Sure does cut down on the amount of 'stuff' I have to pack.

You would also need to now be IN the room for your DME delivery since you need to tip for the OL delivery. The DME delivery is "tipped" already but with the OL I always tip a few dollars.

Of course for me the real benefit of the OL is that now I can travel carry on!

Scott has asked a good question and Brian and I are making phone calls and visiting with folks at the resorts to get all of the pieces to the puzzle.
It's a lot more complicated than you'd think. There's the issue of Bell Services versus the DME folks. DME is outsourced and bell services is in-house at some resorts and outsourced at others. There are tips built in (sort of) with DME but not bell services. There are rules (which we're digging into) about what can be put in your room when no one is there and what can't.
I want to keep an open mind but this looking a bit like a mine field. A good idea, though. We'll keep digging and I'll be back!

Our locker has ALWAYS been waiting for us at check-in and the Bell staff has always been great about delivering it to our room immediately. DME may take several hours to be delivered and we're usually not in the room when that delivery arrives.

I've been doing this concept for a few years now. Except our son and DIL live in Kissimmee and we just store our plastic tub at their house. Then we swing by and pick it up on our way to our DVC resort. It does save a lot in packing (heavy liquid hair care products, laundry, sunscreen, special PJs, slippers and robe, special mugs and glasses, hats). This is a very convenient since we visit the World 6 to 7 times each year for extended stays. And having extra comforts from home is nice. Next, we are buying and keeping king size fitted sheets in our tub.
