Hi all! Question for you all. I have a family reunion vacation booked in second week of December. My home resort is BCV and I have a two bedroom villa booked at BCV for my husband and I and my cousin and his wife and two young boys (first time to Disney for them). I tried to get a studio at BCV or BWV for my uncle and aunt, (they are in their 70s and never been to Disney either). Unfortunately, BCV had no availability and at 7 months out neither did BWV. I've had wait lists going since the seven month mark but at this point, one month away, it's not looking good. I have them booked at Saratoga in a studio. Here is my question, will they be able to drive over and park at BCV daily so they can join us on the bus to the parks? Who should I talk to about this? I'm hoping they will allow this. If not we will just go pick them up every morning and then drive them back at the end of the night but it would be easier if they let them drive over and park for the day. They are still Disney resort guests, with tickets and participating in the dining plan. Any advice?

I would not expect a problem parking at BCV since they are resort guests. Even though the sign at Poly said only for guests at that resort, the guard let us in with our resort parking paper in the car from BCV. I know smaller lots like BLT are more picky, but have not seen issues at BCV.

Ask for another parking pass when you check in. Then give it to your aunt and uncle.

Thank you for this info. This is a big relief to know it shouldn't be a problem!

There have been times when we have been turned away from parking at beach club. If you are going when a lot of conventions are there and the parking lot is heavily used they will turn away guests from other resorts. They do not want people parking there for Epcot.

You might be able to get an extra parking pass if you tell them you came in two cars.

Sometimes they ask for a room key. When I'm meeting friends staying at different resorts, we just meet at the front of the park.

Technically you could add them to your BCV reservation and not be over the occupancy. That way they could also go sit at SAB if your group choose to and would be considered guests of the resort if they restricted entry. However with MDE I'm not certain what the best way to go about that is now since they will have their room at SSR. It was fairly easy before but might confuse MDE if they were linked to two rooms. To be on the safe side I think you woud want the system to consider them different people but it could be that it wouldn't care if they were on two rooms. Probably a call to MS unless someone pops in here with a suggestion on how it could work now.

Wait until you check in and ask for an extra parking pass. Also ask for a day pass for your aunt & uncle. The day pass gives them access to your room.

Have you guys been there lately? We just returned last week and whenever we visited a different resort during that trip, we have to have our room key scanned (or your magic band). The guard has a hand-held scanner and even though we had a parking pass and room key, the guard would stop you if you didn't use the key to open the gate. This happened to my friends at both BCV and WLV and to us at one of the value resorts and OKW. One night we came home to BWV and didn't use the gate and went through the guard side. The guard still made us have our room card scanned to make sure we were guest. This just started about 2 weeks ago. We arrived on Oct. 18th and left on Nov. 2. So for the OP, in order for the family to get in, not only will they need a parking pass, they will need someone's room card or magic band. I had heard rumors while we were there that the KTTW cards were going to be discountinued soon, but not sure how true that was.

BTW this is the same device the servers are using at the TS locations now. If you are using room charge or dining credits, they scan your room card or magic band, but then hand it to you to enter your pin number. Obviously the guard doesn't ask for your pin number.

I asked one of the guards about this and he told me that all it does is tell them if it is a "valid" room key. Day pass I mentioned in my post will tell them it is a valid room key (as it is).

The buses from SSR to parks are normally better than Beach Club as they don't share with 4 other resorts. They will have an easier time going to the parks from SSR then driving to BCV first. I understand joining you to ride the boat or walk to Epcot and DHS but for MK and AK it makes more sense to take their own resort buses to the park if that is how you are planning on going to the parks.

What is a "Day Pass"? We are going with friends in Dec and are at 2 different resorts. Would make it easier if we can give them access to our room (they have a small child & on EPCOT days it would be convenient for them to come back to our room for a short nap/break while the rest of us continue touring)

You would need to add them to your reservation IF you have space available to do that.

I would go with this. You have 6 people staying in your 2 br villa, and the maximum occupancy is 8. Adding their names to the BCV reservation will get them every thing at BCV. They can sleep at SSR, and you don't HAVE to link their SSR reservation to MDE. You could just have their MDE linked to the BCV reservation.

It's not going to work like that anymore.

With MDE, they will have to be linked to SSR to get in their room.

Things are a changing big time at Disney.

Magic Bands will allow Disney to completely monitor all that you do.

BWV was very strict about entering the resort area and identification last week. I was staying there and using the tennis court parking area so I went through the left side each time I came and went. Was scanned each time. When they didn't immediately see my Magic Band they asked for ID even with the parking pass in my window.

Contemporary and SSR,the other two resorts I entered by car during the trip were not so attentive, so not sure how BCV will be.

That said, I'm pretty sure that your family will have no problem if you ask for a pass and explain what you need. You are after all, allowed to have guests visit your room.
