Question for Moms who Pump (MK)

Do the restrooms and/or baby centers at MK have outlets for you to pump in?

I know there is a baby center towards the front of the park. What about throughout the rest of the park? Does anyone know if they have a fridge in the baby center that you're allowed to store your pumped breast milk in? Or what did you do with your milk? Store in a cooler?

Trying to figure out how to make this work for this pumping momma. I'll be there for one day next week.

Thanks!

I don't know the answer but I would bring the sack with ice pack to store the milk. I would also have the baby to drink the milk I pump.in the park for the day. That way it's less risk of it going bad.

That may or may not work for OP, though. Many (most?) moms who pump are pumping to save milk for times that they are away from the baby (going back to work, etc.), or because of oversupply. They breastfeed the baby when the baby is with them. There are some moms who don't/can't nurse but do pump (I was one of them), in which case this suggestion would work for OP.

I think bringing a small soft-sided cooler or insulated lunch box with an ice pack should keep the milk good for several hours.

OP - I don't know if there are refrigerators at the baby care center. If you find that there are not, my advice would be to talk to a lactation consultant and find out the best/safest way to store the breastmilk after you pump. Best of luck to you!

I think you'll do best with a soft sided cooler and a blue ice pack. Worst case, you can do the dreaded pump-and-dump, but I know with some babies (one of mine!) it's hard to face that because pumping is so tough. I assume the baby will not be present.

There's a Breastfeeding Support Thread on the family board. I believe that they do not have a fridge to store milk but try asking on that thread.

Does your pump have a battery pack option? When I went to WDW several times my pump could also run on batteries so that I was able to pump anywhere and I would store the milk in a soft-sided cooler with ice in Ziploc bags and refresh the ice every couple of hours which was freely given at any CS establishment. This worked great until I could get back to the resort and put it in the fridge.

I have oversupply issues so I have to nurse and pump. Ugh. Baby will be with us so I can give him some of what I pump. He's good at nursing but I worry with the heat he may not want to and I'll have to give him pumped milk. Hoping not to have to pump much but may have to maybe once or twice. I'll bring our small cooler with an ice pack - hopefully that works.

I have the battery pack for my pump but it really doesn't work very well. Gets horrible power. Seems to work better with an outlet. Thanks!

I had to exclusively pump (EP) for DD for various reasons, and we took her to Disney during that time. I wrote out a bunch of tips on pumping at WDW when I got back. Here are links to my story and top tips for pumping at WDW:

My experience EPing @ WDW
My top tips for EPing at WDW

Since I had a pump that could work on battery power (Ameda Purely Yours), I didn't need to be tied down to the baby care centers or any places with power outlets. It was incredibly helpful to have that freedom. There's still a lot of good tips in there, though, if your pump won't function on batteries and you do need to go to the baby care centers :)

I hope you have a good trip!

Writing to wish you best of luck! I EPed for two years for my daughter and pumped my way around WDW. Baby care centers were great, but I was also able to pump under a light tunic-style nursing cover using battery back-up in many other places throughout the "world", including during the Finding Nemo show and while waiting for a parade in frontierland, lol. The pump was quiet (compared to the ambient noise) and everyone just thought I was nursing DD's non-exisitant twin. They had no idea! All in all, pumping at WDW was easier than in DC or Boston or some other places we went during that time. As far as coolers, I used lots of blue ice and brought freezer bags to fill with ice from drink machines if things got desperate. DD drank most of what I pumped each day, but there was no way I was losing a drop of that liquid gold to the heat!
