Question for locals re road construction on Hwys. 27 and/or 192

I've heard there is construction somewhere in those areas...I just don't know where. Can anyone help me out on that, please?

We are taking Hwy 27 at Ocala (we enjoy the scenic drive), then onto 192.

(1) Where exactly can we expect to run into the construction zone and where does it end?

(2) Are they working on Saturdays? If they are, about what time do they stop for the day?

(3) Should we expect long delays through the construction area?

I am not sure where you are coming from and how far on 192 you are going. 192 in Kissimmee is torn up. Not sure of the hours that they work on.

27 is worked on around the clock. Heading towards Haines City you can experience long delays.

Safetymom, we will get on 27 at Ocala and are staying at the Hampton Inn on 192 for one night before checking into our Disney resort the next day. From what you said, it sounds like we will encounter quite a bit of construction, right? Would you suggest taking a different route?

I don't know how to tell you another way to go. I try to stay off those roads. Maybe someone else can help you.

Thanks...I think I need to make arrangements for a parachute drop over Disney to avoid all that mess!

The last time I was "home" there was no significant construction going on on Route 27 between Route 50 and 192. They are doing some repaving, but it never held me up--I also wasn't travelling during rush hour. Don't know above Route 50 for more than a few miles--that was clear as well. So that's about 18 miles that's clear, sorry I can't help with further north.

On 192 you'll run into some construction around Orange Lakes, they are putting in a bridge for the Western Beltway extension.
