So I'm sitting here at work, looking out the window at the rain falling with no signs of letting up, and I could only think one thing. Wouldn't it be nice to ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad tonight? Anyone with me on this one?

I was in Cinci on Friday boarding a plane back to LA and I walked by this family that had their laptop open to the Disneyland Park web site. I was thinking about all the fun and excitement they had in front of them and wanted to be a part of that magic all over again.

Yes, as local AP holders we get to enjoy the park often, but remember the magic of visiting the parks as a true destination vacation? Maybe not ... but I'm not native to CA and while I live here now, my first visit was as a child on vacation. Nothing like it.

I can tell you that I do remember the magic of a first visit, as five years ago my wife and I honeymooned at WDW, and I hadn't been there since about 1985, while she had never been. I got to see her reactions to a first visit, and it was the first visit for both of us to Animal Kingdom and the Studios.

Last night was great because while we are passholders, we never see Fantasmic because it's so crowded. However, we got a great spot for the 2nd show last night and really enjoied the show. We talked to a woman from Arizona who was ut with her daughter for the week, and they were very excited by the low crowd levels. There were just a few Christmas decorations up, but it was just enough to make us look forward to Disneyland entering full blown Christmas mode another week. Such a wonderful time of year!
