I am contemplating an iPad. What memory size do you have? Is it big enough for you? Would you have been happier with a different size now that you have had yours for a while?

TIA,
Kim

64 gb, good size for me, I have not come close to using the space, but I have the flexibility if I need it.
I would consider 32gb, but for my use, 64 works best for me.

If you want to put iTunes movies on it I would go large. We have a 16gb because we won it, but I would prefer to have at least 32 because we put movies on it for our son when we travel. Most movies are around 1gb each so we have about 8 movies on there and with everything else we are pretty full.

What size is your touch?

I have the 16GB and it's ok for now. As spaddy said, the movies are what takes up most of the memory. I don't watch movies on here much anyways.

I have the 32 gig touch. I wasn't planning on putting more than one or two movies on the iPad. Mostly I would want photos on there. And of course my books and cool apps and who knows what else. I am just starting to think about it.

John and I each have the 32 gig 3G version and we're both quite happy with them.

I dont use it as storage. That's what my home computer is for.

I make playlists, keep certain movies on it etc.

When I sync...or get tired of whats on there, I change it.

I do the same thing with my iphone.

I just keep what I currently need / want.

If you dont want / need / have any use for/ see the need for an ipad....or hate Apple / Steve Jobs / Macs...or think I should have spent my money on _________. I understand and am willing to live with my choices.

I agree with Kev, you should buy with how you plan to use it in mind. I always run out of room on hard drives, Iphone, etc. so I would recommend you get as much space as you can afford!

I just got a new macbook pro and am already pining for the Ipad.

Nice disclaimer. I got a laugh out of it.
I use mine for video as well.

Partner bought 64 gig 3G two months ago.
Just last night we were talking about it and he said that he probably over bought.

He has 56 gig still available since his iTunes are still on his iPod and laptop computer.

We have used the 3G capability very little, just a couple times experimenting. He thought he would use it while traveling, but we have been able to get on to a free wireless most everywhere.

Mostly it is used by me as a quiet computer in bed. And he uses it the morning for quick weather check before bicycle commute to work.

I was going to get a 16 g but ended up with a 32 g -3 g and I could not be happier! I made a playlist just for ipad and put selected tunes. I downloaded fave movies and tv shows and i still have space but i am always changing. In fact I am getting it all set for my impromptu trip next week to wdw. And I am using it right now!

I am almost the owner of a 32g/3G iPad, and cannot wait. I got that size because while I don't want to store too much on it, I do want to be able to put my music libraries on it, and read plenty with the Kindle/iBooks apps.

I personally went with a 64. I already knew 16 would be too small from my iPhone experience, and the difference of $100 was easily justified for an additional 32G of memory.

One thing that I've enjoyed having for is to backup photos that I've taken in the field - that can chew up memory pretty quickly.

I will agree with PP that I don't use my 3G connection. I too bought it for travel, and just in case I couldn't find a hotspot. It simply doesn't happen that much. (However, I just know that if I didn't have it, I would regret it.)

Thanks, Lyn. I was thinking the same thing. I don't want to be paying for another data plan (my phone plan is unlimited, thank you Verizon) I believe a 32 gig iPad is in my future.

I have had my 32GB 3G since mid-June and love it. It is really a good size for me. I do agree with everyone to consider what you will use it for most. I plan to put movies on it when i go out of town and that's why I went with the bigger 32GB. So when I do have movies on it I don't have to worry about taking other things off.

One of the things I am loving is having iBooks, Kindle and Nook applications on the iPad. I am able to shop which outlet has the book I want and the better price. I am in the middle of a book on my Nook application that wasn't available on Kindle. It's the best of all three worlds in one piece of equipment.

Have fun with whatever you decide.

Love your disclaimer Kevin!:rotfl:
