Question for Gymbuck Veterans

This is my first venture into the world of Gymboree Rewards and Gymbucks with our first little one on the way. A couple questions for those who are familiar with the program...

- can I use a coupon when I redeem my Gymbucks? I have a 20% off one from a parenting magazine, can that be used in conjunction or is it not valid when combined with Gymbucks?

- I received an email offering Gymboree Rewards members a early day start to redeem. Is this common? I shouldn't have any problems if I go in this evening, should I? (I'm not chomping at the bit to go shopping or anything...:lmao:)

Thanks for your help! I just didn't want to be THAT person who calls the store and sounds like a fool (not that it would be a first). :goodvibes

Congrats on your new little one! I'm not an expert, but I do my fair share of shopping for my boys there, so hopefully I can help. You can't use any other coupons when redeeming your gymbucks, including the 20% off ones from magazines. The best use of the gymbucks is to find clearance stuff that's already 40-60% off (so $100 worth of stuff that's now $50 on clearance, and you'll pay $25 after your gymbuck-getting more like 75% off after the clearance price and gymbucks, does that make sense?)

The rewards thing is pretty new, but I always get that offer to shop a day early now too, so I am sure there will be no problems going in today. Have fun shopping!

PP is correct...although, in my experience, the deeply discounted stuff is hit or miss in our area during Gymbucks redemption. If you're trying to put outfits together, it can be a bit tricky. I consider the 50% off to be a "good enough" deal, so I usually buy the newer line stuff, if there are items that I or my son likes.... but there are diehard gymbofreaks out there (I'm a gymbofreak, but not a DIEHARD gymbofreak...LOL) for whom getting gymbo for ROCK BOTTOM prices is their junkie fix!

Keep in mind, if you're on their mailing list, there is a 30% off coupon/$15 off $60 purchase/and I think a 20% off coupon mailer (3 seperate coupons) that are on their way to homes right now. In addition, tanks and shorts are going to be on sale for $8/each sometime in early to mid may....it's called the "camp deals" sale or something along those lines....many people save a 20% to stock up on the camp deals (great cheap playclothes)....

As far as mags go, parents and parenting usually have coupons on a monthly basis...suscribe to them if you need a "steady" supply.

Also, if you're a rewards member, Gymbuck redemption has been a day earlier for rewards members. If you shop in store, you can also do holds...so today was the first day for gymbucks redemption members, and stores were accepting holds last night. They will hold for 24 hours (I think...I usually shop online)....

Thank you both for your replies! It's nice to know about what sales/promotions are coming up, I can plan accordingly. I'm sure I'll be a pro at this in no time, much to DH's dismay I'm sure.

Thanks again for your help!

I do usually have good luck finding clearanced out clothes, but I'm shopping for boys and usually not too concerned with putting full outfits together. I'm usually looking for just shirts to go with jeans, etc, and I can always find those deeply discounted during GB redemption. I have also used them for full-priced stuff, esp. at Christmastime to get their Christmas outfits 50% off.

Thanks for the above info! I hit that sale last year and got awesome comfy two-piece outfits for them for around $6 each piece. I had asked when it was happening this year and my store couldn't tell me.
