We're driving to WDW at the end of the month from Illinois. So, just how bad is the construction on the southern portion of I-75? Should I consider an alternate route, especially traveling right before Christmas. Thanks!

We just drove through on 75 mid October to Disney, the construction wasn't that bad. There was a few miles where it was 2 lanes each direction and there were barriers constructed b/c it appeared they were moving lanes. I wouldn't consider a different route b/c of it. Go to wsbtv.com and click on their traffic tab, it'll give you up to date info on accidents, construction etc and links to the ganavigator website.

good luck.

I live in N. Florida and have traveled 75 several times since September. It was not bad as they always have 2 lanes moving. I would not change routes.

Just avoid rush hour, especially on Fridays. All days except Fri rush hour is around 4pm - 6:30pm. On Friday rush hour starts as early as 2-3pm. Make sure to check the GA Navigator site. It will have the most up-to-date info.
