On the day you switch resorts, what do you do? We usually pack up the night before, head to a park for rope drop then to the second resort after lunch. Now, I am thinking it might be more relaxing to sleep in on the day of the switch, pack when we get up then do whatever we feel like before checking into AKV. What do you do?

well, i can only tell you what NOT to do.

we only ever did one split stay, and we switched from GF to poly. we had slept in and got a very late start so by that time, we felt like we may as well just head on over to the poly and wait for our room to be ready. we figured it would probably be ready in an hour or so. big mistake. don't do it!!! we spent hours sweaty on the beach while bell services had all our stuff, our room wasn't ready until about 4, we ended up really regretting it. we should have gone to a park.

we may be doing a similar split stay on our next trip, and if we do, i plan to i plan to go to a park and NOT go to resort #2 until i have gotten confirmation that our room is ready.

If we want to start our day in a park close to resort #1 and we don't have urgent need for our luggage that day, then we give Bell Services our luggage in the morning, head to rope drop and go directly from the park to resort #2 in the afternoon.

Example: For our upcoming trip, we're at Poly and going to MK on transfer day. We'll give Bell Services our luggage, head to MK for rope drop, monorail to Epcot for our lunch ADR and then walk over to BWI sometime around 3pm or so and check in. If our luggage is there, great! If not, that's fine. If it's really warm that day, we'll carry our swimsuits along in our park bags.

If we want to start our day in a park close to resort #2 and/or we need have a more urgent need for luggage that afternoon, we'll take a cab to resort #2 really early in the morning and bring our luggage with us.

Example: Last October, we were at BC and going to spend the day in MK on transfer day. We also had MNSSHP tickets for that night and our costumes were in the luggage! So early in the morning (like 6am) we got a cab from BC to CR and brought our luggage with us. Took the monorail to MK rope drop and spent the day there until our afternoon break. Couldn't risk handing over our luggage to Bell Services when we needed those costumes around 4pm!

Thank you. I always pack our swimsuits in a bag I carry to the park the transfer day. And I KNOW our room won't be ready until at least 4 since we are checking into resort #2 the Sunday of President's week. Gotta think this through, maybe it would be easier to hit a park that day. I hate having to pack the night before as we are rope drop people. :confused3 I know some people do 2 seperate bags for the seperate resorts, but that won't work with my teens.

For anyone reading this that is afraid to do a split stay, rest assured, this is not a big deal, we do split stays all the time and really enjoy them. It is like two seperate vactions. For us, we like a minimum of 4 nights in each resort, but after 4 or 5 nights , we are itching to explore more of the world. :)

Ok, here is our details. 5 nights at BLT. We have PH plus tickets. I have HS scheduled for that day with a 5:20 ADR at 50's PT Cafe. Now, normally we would hit HS for rope drop, leave around noon, head back to the resort for rest or swim, then back to HS for dinner and a few more attractions. We will be checking into AKV that day bit I do not think the room will be ready until late in the day. We will give up the 50's ADR if necessary to make this smoother. Just looking at this spelled out, none of these locations are near each other :moped:We could possibly do a later start to Typhoon Lagoon or Disneyquest depending on weather, say 10-5, then check into AKV
