Question for folks with a Vera Bradley purse

DD got a Vera Bradley purse and duffel bag for her birthday. She is going on a school trip this week, and I know they (especially the duffel bag on the bus)are going to get dirty. I was wondering if it would be okay to spray them with Scotchgard. What do you think?

I would say not to take it on the bus trip. Seems like she's almost asking for trouble, you know?

Hadn't really thought about the Scotch Guard thing. Mine is going with me to Disney on Friday... wahoo! I guard that thing! I love it so much and would be heartbroken if it got dirty right now- I've only had it for about 6 weeks and it's one of those things I've wanted for years. Definitely hand carry for me. Then again, the reason we got it now is that that it wouldn't be checked (everything else we have it check size).

Let me know what you find out about the Scotch Guard... I might have to do that if someone says it's alright. Great idea!

I have never used Scotch Guard on my Vera Bradley but I do machine wash them. I use woolite, on the cold water setting, on the hand washable setting and hang dry. They come out beautifully.

I am not so sure I would bring the big duffle on a school trip not because it would get dirty but because it could get torn very badly.

I had a set of VB luggage that held up nicely but with frequent handling on planes it did get torn.

Scotchgard works great! It keeps my purse looking brand new.

I do pretty much the same thing. I also use SpraynWash Duel Action formula to pretreat any noticeable stains.

Just wanted to report that the Scotchgard really worked well. The bag returned from Savannah looking just as good as when it left.
