Question for fans of Captain Jack Sparrow?

Okay bare with me here while I try to explain this.
My question is those of you who say you love Capt. Jack, do you really love Johnny Depp or the character of Capt Jack?
Does that make sense?

For example, I'm not a huge fan of Johnny Depp. I used to be back in the 21 Jump Street days (I'm dating myself here) but then I sorta out grew him I guess. Don't get me wrong he's still a hottie and all, but I can't say that I know that much about him.

Now when I finally got around to watching the POTC movie I LOVED Capt Jack. As a character he was great. Funny, sarcastic, sexy in his pirate outfit, etc. But that's the character not neccessarily Johnny Depp. Some actors (I'm not saying him per se) are great in the movies and then you hear them IRL and you want to tell them to never open their mouth without a script KWIM?

When I saw Finding Neverland, Johnny's character in that movie didn't exactly give me chills. So I guess for me I would have to say that I would go out with Johnny Depp as Capt. Jack, but not with Johnny Depp as himself. Make sense?

So are you more a fan of the movie character or the real guy? Not that it really matters since I doubt he'll be calling any of us soon.

I am a fan of Johnnie Depp, the actor. He's an excellent actor--one of those who makes me see the character--not the actor.

I'm definitely a fan of Johnnie Depp AS Captain Jack Sparrow. He makes a very sexy pirate, indeed! I cannot imagine that part being played by anyone else.

I have to say that I am a fan of both - I love the character Jack Sparrow but I also love Johnny Depp - I think he is such a talented actor and I really admire all of the work that he has done with his many different roles.

I find Capt. Jack Sparrow attractive. Johnny Depp? Not so much, but I do like his acting.

I'm bewildered about my attraction to Capt. Jack, since I don't normally go for guys who have long hair and wear eyeliner (not to mention looking like a shower is long overdue). I can't deny it, though. He's hot. In fact, I persuaded DH to dress up as Capt. Jack for Halloween. Oh, yeahhhh!

I think the character is just so great. Capt. Jack is sexy no doubt, but more than that he's funny and a sense of humor is very attractive make no mistake. Woman love a guy who can make them laugh. He's charming too. I just wonder if Johnny Depp is anything like this particular character?

I really love Johnny Depp but Capt'n Jack is kinda cooky and nuts (I love the character but I don't find him attractive).

I much prefer Will Turner (hmmm big surprise! LOL!)
