Question for F&W Festival

Looks like the Giants play the Bucs on November 8th. As a result, my sister and I will be heading down to Disney on November 6th and 7th. We're mad that we just miss MCMCP and MNSSHP, but we're happy that we get to go down for W&F Festival and that we get a quick "taste" if Disney before heading there for Xmas.

A few questions:

- Is W&F separately ticketed, or do we just buy a regular park ticket?
- We usually do a meal plan - should we just do a Disney gift card or link our credit card for the Magic Band? Do all the stands accept credit card or MB payment?
- Being that it's towards the end of W&F, will the selection be limited, or do all the stands stay open through the end of the festival?

I'm sure I'll think of more questions - those seem to be the most important right now, though.

Just an FYI- it's called the F&W Festival.

-its included in the regular admission. There are some special meals and demonstrations that require separate paid reservations.

-all of the kiosks can take cash, credit cards, gift cards or MBs (if you have a DDP or have arranged room charging). You can use a snack credit for many of the food items. Not for booze, though.

- the kiosks remain open, with their full menus, until the close of the festival.

Summed up fantastically in one post. The last question about the "selection being limited" is tricky. We have been to the F&W Festival at the beginning, middle and end through the last few years. Some items at the end were not available (mainly specific beers and a very small group of food items). With that being said you will still have a great opportunity to try numerous different things. We normally use our DxDP snack points for the more expensive food items and use gift cards for the cheaper items/alcoholic items. It has worked well and we tend to save some money that way.

Just a friendly heads up November 6th and 7th is the Wine and Dine half marathon weekend and the F&W festival is going to be crazy insanely busy. I was there last year for it and I am going again this year but I will stay away from Marathon weekend at F&W

Thanks for all the feedback. I was so excited that I jumped to create this thread.

Thanks for the heads up. Where does it rank in terms of Christmas time? We've conquered Disney during Xmas, so if it's anything like that we shouldn't have a problem. That does stink though - our one chance to make a quick trip to Disney during an "off peak" time and it's during one of the more crowded times!

There is no comparison to Christmas week. that is hands down the busiest time of the year. The only thing that will be crowded on F&W half marathon weekend will be F&W everything else should be easily managed

Awesome, then I should be fine.

Yeah we plan on doing F&W on that Friday, sleep it off Friday night, and then do Magic Kingdom on Saturday.

I'm campaigning against a park hopper. We always feel like when we're in Disney that we have to hop and see all the parks, but right now DHS doesn't seem worth it. I even think MK is a stretch. Personally, I just want to see the F&W festival. I'd be content with spending the Saturday at Disney Springs, but my sister really loves MK.

My sister is a teacher and gets a discount at Swan & Dolphin, so we're thinking about that. I've crunched the numbers and it'd be pretty much even between meal plan or no meal plan. I also think it'd be cool to stay at S&D, although I would miss the perks of the "on-site" resorts. But the proximity to EPCOT would be a HUGE pro.

Marathon and Jersey Week are the craziest times I've gone crowd wise. It's very busy, but nothing a little planning can't handle. :) Have a great trip!

I recommend having an alternate form of payment available. When I was at F&W in October there were many times where the magic band readers weren't working. It seemed to mainly be ones that were in the direct sun. So some CMs were trying to keep them shaded, but the functionality wasn't 100%.

Then there was the day when the entire system went down resort-wide.

I agree here. I used Disney Gift Card it was a breeze
