I have some Disney Princess costumes I would like to sell. They can either be used for dress up or for Halloween. My question is.....is it too early to list them for most people to be doing Halloween shopping? Should I wait a bit closer to the middle of September? Do you think I would get more bids that way?

I am trying to clean out some closets and want to maximize what I can get for them. They are in good shape and I have about 6 of them. I just know that it is a time-specific item and I'm not really sure whether to list now or wait a few weeks.

Thank you!

Crazies like me are already looking on ebay. I'm not sure about the sane moms! I have some XXS 2/3 that I need to sell because DD outgrew them.

I would list around the beginning of October and do a 7 day auction. I listed a few costumes (the Disney Ariel one sold for MORE than I paid for!!) last Halloween.

Honestly, I didn't even think about the fact that Halloween is 2 months away until I passed the Halloween store yesterday! Came to the realization that summer is over. :guilty:

I'm so glad you asked this question - I have some costumes to list myself!

Until Sept. 7, Ebay has no insertion fees on auctions. So if you listed anything and it did not sell, it would not cost you anything. But like you, I wonder if it is too early for costumes - even though they are in every store already.

You can also do an advanced search on disney in the costumes category and check the box that says completed auctions to see what has sold recently.

I am a seasoned Ebay seller. I have sold several Disney Costumes within the past week. I would list now at Fixed Price...just look to see what completeds are looking like a price a few $$ higher. I always find that the closer to Halloween I wait the more costumes there end up being.

I would either do a fixed price auction now or wait till the end of September/ beginning of October to list as a seasonal item. Most parents are worried about school clothes right now not costumes. Good Luck!

I would list them now at a fixed price. I know when we went to WDW in late September I was looking for costumes about now to wear at MNSSHP.

If it helps I just bought a Disney Pirate costume off Ebay a couple of weeks ago... And its for Halloween for my DS3. :surfweb:

I have read that late August and early Sept is prime time to list costumes.

Don't wait! It is time to sell those costumes..Sold 2 out of 3 already this week. Disney princesses dress up.

Oh my goodness! I sold one already with Buy it Now. That must mean it was priced too low, right??

Okay I sold my other one BIN last night! So thats 2 out of 3 on the first day!!

One more question (sorry)....I have some princess PJs, bought at the Disney store, long pants long sleeves (those PJ Pals I think they call them). Anyway I have 3 pairs, all same size. Should I list them as a lot or separately?? I am thinking together but what if someone only wants to spend a certain amount??

What would be better?

List some both in Halloween costumes and in the Disney section. I sold some off season and started buying Halloween costumes as early as August. Start at a price you feel comfortable with. I started mine at 14.99 and was able to sell. Originally the dresses sell for $40-60.

well when I got back from the store, the 3rd one had sold. So that is 3 out of 3! I listed 3 more just now but I would still like to know about the pajamas if anyone has some advice. Thank you!

How much did you list yours for? I'm debating selling a few of my DD's dresses she has outgrown. not sure where to start pricing.

Wow OP! Great job!

Did you list them as a fixed price auction or regular auction with BIN?

And as pp asked, what did you price them at? It would really help the rest of us!

As for the pjs, I would do them as a lot...JMO. As a buyer, I would not want to bid on 1 pair and have to pay shipping for pjs (unless they were really cheap or maybe if they had free shipping).

List the PJ's altogether and offer free shipping with a higher start price. They will sell. Congrats on the costumes selling!! WTG!
