We will be going to DL to meet up with family for Christmas. We have been to DL many times, but never during the holidays. In fact, most of our trips have been during the week in the off season, so we are not used to seeing crowds.

I'm so excited about our first ever trip to see Christmas Disney style! :santa: :woohoo: We arrive on Thursday the 20th and leave on Sunday the 23rd.

For those of you who are Christmastime experts, I would love your opinion about crowds on Saturday the 22nd. Do you think there is a chance that DL will reach capacity? I would be so sad if we left on Saturday and couldn't get back in. It will be 6 adults on this trip, so if we have to stay in the park all day we could.

TIA for your help!
Vicki

I am not an expert, but we did go to DL three years ago and were there the Sunday through Tuesday before Christmas (that year, Christmas wasn't until the following Friday), and it was the most crowded I have ever experienced. My friends were in the park Saturday night and the crowds were so thick after the fireworks that they were leading people out through "backstage" behind Main Street. But, they did get in to the park late in the day, so I don't think it was at capacity.

I just wanted to say hi!! We will be there sharing in the crowds with you!!:lmao:

Thanks Tink! I'm prepared for the crowds (I think!) as long as I can get in!

I keep telling DH that this is about the Christmas experience, not about riding rides!

We did the HMH back in October, so believe it or not, the ride that's highest on my prorioty is IASW!!! :rotfl:

Just us and many thousands of our closest friends, right! :rotfl2:

I keep trying to prepare myself, but I know it will be unbelievable!

But I know it will be worth it! :santa:

:lmao: me to! I cant wait to ride that!

We went last year the week before Christmas, although not on the weekend. On Wednesday it was very manageable; however, on Thursday it was quite crowded. I can only assume that the crowds keep growing as the weekend goes. Yes, It will be very crowded. Capacity crowded? Most likely not. Not until the following week.

Thanks for the info! I think I will stick to my original plan then.

DH and I will be there Thursday afternoon, so he and I will have time together alone at DL to celebrate Christmas! :santa: :santa: We will hopefully see the fireworks and snow show the first time then.

His family is driving up Friday morning from San Diego. We will see the fireworks (hopefully) and F! (with family) on Friday night.

Saturday afternoon we will take a break, then come back and go to DCA, where we will stay and watch the ELP. :cloud9: We'll say goodbye to his family who will drive back to San Diego that night.

We will leisurely make our way back into DL, not worrying about seeing the fireworks, and stay till midnight!

Wish me luck! Thanks again!

Vicki
