Question for Apple fans

Hi there! I think I've decided to get DH an iPad for Christmas. We were going to wait and see if the rumor about a new version being released in February was true.

Other than the enhanced screen, we aren't really interested in the other new (rumored) features.

So I think I'm going to go ahead and get one for Christmas and suprise him! It's so rare to have the opportunity to get something he really wants that I know how to buy!

So here's my question... We have two Apple stores here in Kansas City. Are there any advantages to buying at the store? If not I'm inclined to go to Best Buy, so I can rack up some Rewards points!

No advantages other than the thrill of buying something in the Apple store. You still get the same warranty from Apple regardless of where you buy it. I bought mine at Target, I had a coupon for a $15 giftcard with $150 purchase AND used my Red Card and saved 5%!!!!!!

Only advantage I can think of is the knowledge of the product by the Apple clerks.

Ohhh I didn't even think of coupons! Best Buy is constantly sending us 10% off coupons, but I bet if I look at the fine print iPad's are excluded...

I think we'll get like $20 in Rewards points though, so that will be nice. I should have bought it when Apple had $41 off on Black Friday, but I was still on the fence about getting it.

DS bought one on Black Friday with his birthday money. I want one now, too but I think I'll wait for the new version instead of asking for it.

The only other plus I see is that online you get it engraved. DS paid the same price online as he would in the Apple store (including MD sales tax.)
