I have tried to mail order these shoes twice for my daughter, first time picked a half size larger than street shoe (because the size guide said they run the same size as street shoe), she could barely get her foot into the shoe. Second time bought a whole size larger than the first time (1.5 sizes larger than her street shoe size). Shoes are still tight. I wondering if the Capezio Pedini runs so small for everyone? Mixed reviews online about the sizing. I find it hard to believe that anyone could squeeze their foot into their actual street size. I was going to try one more time, and get another whole size up. My daughter has always worn the slip-on jazz shoes so I am wondering if the Pedinis are just fitting strange and they should be a bit tight till you dance around in them? I could just drive to the corner where there is a dance shop and buy them in person but on principal I don't want to spend that much money :(. I will only be out the shipping to send the first two pairs back because I got them with a free shipping deal.

Why not go to the brick and mortar store, get her sized properly, then order them online?

Because I don't want to waste their time, and they will know I am just in there to find out the size so I can get them somewhere else cheaper .

Does she not use any items for dance from the store? I was constantly picking up new tights and other dance items 5 minutes before our store closed. Many, many times. I am sure they want your daughter's feet to be fit properly. You really can ruin them for life if you don't get the correct fit. Bad feet are the worst!!!

I don't intend to ruin my daughter's feet :rolleyes2. I guess you havn't noticed that dance stores charge about twice as much as online stores for tights, shoes, booty shorts, leotards, etc.? That is why I shop online when I can, to save tons of money. I have two girls in dance and outfitting them for their multiple classes is expensive.

I didn't say you were going to ruin her feet. I said that the store would size her without a purchase. They are in the dance business. They know how important it is. They themselves may have an online store that sells discounted.

I felt that you didn't want to go in and get her sized without a purchase. If that is what is stopping you, buy a leotard, some tights, bows for her hair, a dance sweater, anything.

All I wanted to stress was I did not think the store would send you away if you did not purchase anything. With dance, fit is just as important as technique.

I am very sorry you read it wrong or if I stated it wrong. I really was just trying to help you. I hope you have a great dance season. My daughter is older now and chose her studies over dance. I am hoping she will go back sometime soon so I can watch her again. :flower:

My daughter is a serious dancer and so I've got shoes shoes and more shoes What I've found is that it is always best to buy the first pair in a brick and mortar store and then use that knowledge to buy online from that point forward.

She does have the pedinis....I'll have to go and see if I can find them and update you on the size compared to her street shoe.

ETA: well oddly enough her pedinis are an adult 6.5 and she wears a 7/7.5 street shoe. You could go into a brick and mortar and buy something else (leotard or something) and just get their suggestion for ordering the pedini online. As long as you are buying something else they would probably be happy to help guide you. Just be honest about the difference in price, I'm sure they'd understand

my daughter is in a different capezio jazz shoe and those run about 2 sizes small. her street shoes is a 3.5 and her jazz shoes are a 5.5 and those are last years shoe and they are getting small...I also buy online but I always start getting the first pair at the store and then periodically go to the dance store to get her sized just to make sure they are the right size but both of my local stores charge $10 to be sized, if you dont buy the shoe....

Is this shoe everyone in the class has to have? Could she try on a classmate's shoes to check on the size?
Dance shoes makers each seem to have their own size standard (or lack their there of!)
