Question for anyone who registered at bed bath and beyond??

When I went to registered at bed, bath and beyond a few mths back the woman told me that my registry acts as a receipt and i can get cash for items i dont want anymore or return them??

Has anyone experience that and do the really give you the cash??

Also, I live in fl and my shower is in nj. Does anyone know if i can return items at the nj store and repurchase at the fl store. I know it will be a pain with getting them down to FL

You should definitely be able to exchange at any BB&B store. As for the other question, I'm not sure.

I just had a thought. What if you requested gift cards? Then you could get what you want and you wouldn't have go to through the hassle of shipping/exchanging...

Yeah that would make life easy but both of our families dont believe in gift cards or cash. They like the idea of opening gifts at bridal showers.

Yes, you can get cash for any item less than $200. This can be really helpful if there's an item you want from another store's registry and people give you duplicates from your BB&B registry: just return the duplicate to BB&B and use the cash to buy it off your other registry!

One thing to note - the system knows whether someone bought your gift with a 20% off coupon, so you'll only get back the actual amount they paid. But then BB&B can give you a 20% off coupon so that if you want to buy the item again (like in a different color) you only pay what the gift-giver paid.

We registered with BB&B too. They have awesome return policies and hardly ever prove a hassle. They are the easiest to work with for returns/exchanges. You can absolutely return items in NJ and purchase them back here in FL. But have them double check the availability of the store in FL..some stores don't carry the same items.

So good to know.. Yeah I registered here in FL so it shouldnt be an issuse down here... thanks everyone
