We are planning to go for the first time to Hilton Head - Dec 27-Jan 2. So far, we have managed only to get reservations at HHI for Dec 30-Jan 1. We've waitlisted a couple of different ways in the hopes to get something. We're currently in a 1bed but really don't mind moving between rooms through the week so a studio would have been fine too.
Now I'm starting to worry that we may not get any more nights at HHI.
I'm looking around at other resorts to see if anything else is available and there seems to be lots of resorts/rooms to choose from. I guess instead of giving up on this holiday we'll go somewhere else Dec 27-30 and HHI for Dec 30-Jan 1.
Here's the dilemna...where else to go? There are so many other resorts around the island I don't know where to start. We've never visited the area before so I don't know if I want to try a totally different location or stick close to disney.
Any suggestions? Is there somewhere else that you've been to or always wanted to try? I don't mind paying for a "fancy" place since it's only a couple of nights...dh really needs a nice holiday! :santa:

Try the Hilton Oceanfront Resort. It is by the DVC Beach House and we got saw great rates during the time period you will be there. All of the accommdations are supposed to be comparable to a studio. We are staying there on December 26 before checking into the DVC resort on the 27th.

Thanks! It's definitely an option - great prices too!

Anyone have a resort they would recommend if you wanted to be spoiled? Might be dh's christmas gift...

Just saying hello! We'll be there Dec. 31-Jan. 3! Maybe we'll run into each other. We got our studio for the 1-3 on points, and did cash for the 31st in a 1 bdr.

Did you ask if anything was available on a cash reservation for those nights? Sometimes they will have availability that way even though no ressies using points are available. Couldn't hurt to check if you haven't already.

That's exactly what I was going to suggest. We were waitlisted for Thanksgiving one year on points. After being on the waitlist for about 5 months, we finally checked on cash. Cash rates at that time of year are so reasonable! Turns out that they'd had cash all along, but we'd never asked. One year, we almost took a 2 BR on cash (and there's only two of us) but a 1 BR came thru at the last minute.

The resort is FULL. I called again this morning, and will continue to for the next couple of weeks, and was given the same answer. No rooms of any sort available for points or cash.
So, I'm not hopeful.:sad1:
I'm still looking for alternatives if anyone has suggestions :santa:
