Question for a Spirit Expert

Considering coming home a day later than my original itinerary on spirit... but my husband would still leave on the original flight. I was wondering if there would be any problems if he checks in for the flight but the other three of us no-show the return leg. Don't want to cancel, there is a crazy fee. My children and I could fly home the next day with new tickets booked separately for $100 total. Anyone ever tried to do a partial no show before? How did it go?

I'm interested in the answer to this question as well if anyone has information to share...

Not an expert by any means re spirit but...

For a trip this past summer that I had booked RT vs separate legs, wanted to start our trip a day early

Had booked @ low spirit fare club rate. Was absolutely shocked to be told when I called:

1) would have to pay a fee to cancel even part of the trip

&

2) a 'no show' on flight down would automatically void the flight back home! Seriously, made no sense to me.

Looked on their website and couldn't find 'the rule' that applied. Didn't bother calling back to see if would get a different answer as often happens with WDW lol.

OP I'd call them & ask to both speak to a supervisor and be directed to the section online as to their rules on this issue just to make sure that 3 of you being 'no shows' don't automatically cancel your DHs tix

Good luck, Please post back!

That policy is followed by pretty much every airline. Not exclusive to Spirit. I think the OP would be ok since they wanted to not show up for the return trip. I can't believe that if only one person showed up they would kick them off the plane or not allow them to check in.

I typically book the legs separately so it hasn't come up for me in the past. Even if it's standard policy, it doesn't seem 'right' to me as the seats are already paid for, why should the airline get the opportunity to sell then again?

As I stated previously, even if the question is answered here, a phone call should offer confirmation if not a definitive answer for the OP.

Hubby is leaving before them. Their no-show wouldn't cancel his ticket unless they literally want to take him off the plane when they realized the other 3 aren't there. Which then leads to issues with any checked bags, etc.
