Question for a newbie. Points/timing

Thank you first for reading this thread...We are very new and are planning our very first visit using our recently purchased DVC at VWL. We should be able to book on Friday, March 16th. We just received our Welcome Package from Disney...SOOO FREAKIN' COOL!!!

My Question?

We would like to book a full week for Oct 28thish - Nov 3rdish, should we do that? or our ideal setup would be a few days at VWL and a few at BWV or BCV next to MGM/Epcot?

The reason I asked is because the 7-month window happens in April for us. Our use year is (June). So, theorectically we have until the end of March to book VWL (Our Home Resort) then it opens up to all other DVC members? Do we need to wait until April 1st to book BCV or BWV?

I hope that made sense.

I'm not sure why you feel you need to wait until next Friday since you are probably already in the system, but the time you are going is a busy time at DVC resorts and availability may already be limited. I would reserve all of the nights you want at your home resort and then see if you can move to BWV or BCV right at 7 months.

On April 2 (MS is not open on April 1 this year) you could make reservations at non-home resorts for dates thru November 1, 2007. Reservations are based on checkout date so November 2 would be the checkout date for November 1. For the resorts and dates you want, I'd expect that calling daily would be worthwhile.

Resales will usually be in the system about a week after closing - but if you already have your welcome packet from DVC, you may be there already.
