Question: Direct VGF Purchase Summer Incentive - Welcome Home Credit (New)?

Hello all, how does one get the welcome home credit (not a DVC member currently)?

I saw a thread where someone did not get this credit, so wanted to make sure I understand before I reach out to a guide.

My understanding is yes…I actually should not have included WDW because I have heard cruises work too….I jusr always have WDW on the brain! Lol

Yep, just have a future reservation booked. They’ll ask for the confirmation #.

Just to add -

New members can get $1,000 Welcome Home credit for already having a trip on the books before buying, PLUS the $500 referral credit from an existing member.

Existing members (resale or direct) can get $1,500 Welcome Home credit. ($500 referral credit not possible)

Both work out to the same $1,500.

Just ran into the thread again posted by @PharmDis where welcome home credit was not given by guide (since it was a Disneyland hotel, vs WDW hotel). For folks who have used VDH or VGC as reservations to get the welcome home credit---- were you given OR denied the credit? Thank you.

I think you're misreading that thread. @PharmDis purchased VDH which is why a Welcome Home credit is not available. Buying VDH excludes that promotion. It's not the stay at VDH that is excluded.

If you plan on purchasing an eligible property in Florida... a DCL, Aulani, DL, WDW, etc stay all count.

As a newbie looking into DVC, seems strange they are treating DL vs WDW properties differently (esp. since VDH is in active sale too) for Welcome Home...

No problem!

VDH had strong sales for it's first few months. I imagine it didn't need the extra incentive whereas WDW resorts did.

Thank you @PolyRob for clarifying! What you shared is (sadly for me) correct. I was told by my guide the Welcome Home promo isn't applicable for VDH purchases.
