Question/Dilemma re: using points for Sorcerer's Pass

So, admittedly, this is a fairly petty question, but I'm trying to decide if this is worth it and/or if anyone else has been in this scenario.

We are planning on being at WDW probably multiple times in August and September and so on, and are therefore interested in buying AP's using points for the first time. Problem is, our UY is October and we don't have any more points available this year.

So, first question: will they let us borrow points from our Oct 25 UY to use on AP's now?

And, if so, the second question: have people done this? It would presumably require us to borrow points every year in order to renew in August. Is there any issues/consequences with doing this - other than being unable to "unborrow" those points - that I'm not thinking of? I guess we could try to just use less of our 2025 points so we would have enough to use for AP's in August '26, but that might be hard to save them...

I know I’ve read that they’ve let members use OTUP bought via the MMB program. I may have read of people borrowing, but I’m not sure of that. I’d call MS and ask.

Yes, I did borrow some points for my Sorcerer Pass.

It was well worth it for me! And I plan to continue to do it as long as the program exists!

Let me say that we probably would have borrowed points to buy our new Sorcerer APs, but we don’t have any left to borrow!

Yes, I did some research myself since I want to renew my AP with borrowing points and OTU points, which required me to figure out my upcoming stays. We will be doing same in October.

Banked, Borrowed and OTUP can all be used. I used a combo of banked and OTUP for ours.

Another verification that borrowed points can be used. We had a VDH trip scheduled for this past May. It was a big trip with friends and we'd borrowed 2025 pts (Dec UY) to be able to book the room at 11 months. Life happened and the trip had to be canceled. Those borrowed points were now "stuck" in my 2024 UY with virtually no chance of being used for a trip. Have a big Dec 2025 trip at WDW, but those (now) 2024 points aren't eligible for use on that trip. Used those borrowed points to buy the Sorcerer Pass. Saved me from having to go through the hassle of renting these points.

Not that you need another confirmation but I also just bought an AP with borrowed points. The CM also used my resale points which surprised me as I thought it was direct or pre-2019 points only. Seems I’m not the only one who had this happen so maybe I’ve misunderstood the t&c

I did ask if it was possibly to buy 2025 OTUP and borrow those for the pass, as well (we already used our 2024 OTUP) but that’s not allowed.
