Question: DDP with 3-year-old

Last year my DS was 2, so she did not get dining plan. We paid OOP for her meals. On our next trip, she will be 3-year-old and will be on dining plan too.

I read many post, many people maximize their DDP value by using their child TS (while paying child meal OOP). I am not trying to crack the DDP system, but for some 2TS restaurants we plan to go - I think it doesn't woth to pay 2TS for his mac & cheese ;-) Better pay her meal OOP and use the TS somewhere else if possible.

I want to know how the TS and CS works with child credits? Say 3 of us (DH, me, DS3) stay at SSR for 7 nights - do we have 3x7 = 21 TS and 21 CS? Or it has to be 14 TS + 7 child TS etc?

I am not sure if this is doable in 2007, since I saw this issue in FAQ:
Q: Can guests ages 10+ use Guests ages 3-9 meal entitlements?
A. Sorry, meal entitlements can not be shared between Guests ages 10+ and Guests ages 3-9.

You found the answer to your own question. This is one of those things that the moderators have stated that only Disney can provide more information about.

Any questions regarding the use of the plan that are not answered specifically in the WDW Dining Brochure cannot be accurately answered on these boards and should be addressed to WDW Dining. Interpretation of the rules has led to a tremendous amount of debate on these boards. To avoid further conflict, we will close any threads that ask for interpretation of the rules and encourage the poster to contact WDW Dining.
Here's a link to the moderators' sticky thread. It contains a lot of useful information you may need to know:

Thanks bicker. But I think you might have misunderstood my question...

As I mentioned, I am not trying to abuse the DDP by squeezing into the grey area. We have booked more TS meals than what we entitled for DDP, so we are expected to pay OOP for a few meals.

Say Narcoossee's - we are going to pay 2TS per meal. I wonder if I can pay for my DS3's meal OOP, i.e. the bill will be 4TS + CASH. I don't see it reasonable for paying 2TS for my childs mac & cheese, while other restaurants charge 1 TS.

Now If I saved "2 ChildTS credits", can I use it in the following situation -
Cinderella's Royal Table - while DH and I pay CASH (OOP), and use the remaining 2 Child TS for my DS3?

Yes, I understand. What a specific restaurant will do in a specific circumstance, as it pertains to paying OOP for a child, is one of those questions that only Disney can answer. Technically, you should be allowed to pay OOP for your child at a signature restaurant and use those two credits for your child later in the trip, but sometimes guests have encountered issues when trying to do similar things which are, on the surface, seemingly permissible, so no one can assure you what you will encounter.
