Question: CS restaurants near Boardwalk resort

If we buy a DVC resale I know that as DVC members we could get the dining plan as an option on our trip. We are looking into BWV as our home resort, because we love that area. However, there are 3 CS restaurants between BW, BC and YC (in other words, within walking distance of BWV), and they seem to have very limited food choices.

DH and I love the dining plan. We would not be eligible for the DDE card because we are planning to go every other year with a 5 or 6-day base ticket, so an AP would not save us money (you could only get the DDE card if you are either a FL resident or have an AP). But we really love the dining plan. Only problem is, we would be going for 10-night stays, with 5 or 6 days at the parks, maybe one or 2 days going to Sea World or Universal from park opening to the afternoon (kids will be only 3 and 5 on our next trip so not sure about these just yet). I know we obviously can't use the DDP at those places, but we could also use CS credits for dinner on those days, and save our extra TS credits for a signature restaurant or dinner show. So we would definitely use all the credits.

Anyway, how are the CS locations for lunch or a quick dinner in the BW/BC/YC? The choices are Boardwalk Bakery (seems to only have a choice of 3 sandwiches), Hurricane Hannah's, and Beach Club Market. We would not have a full 10-day ticket or park hopper or AP, as I mentioned above, so walking to Epcot's WS is not an option (yes, I have thought of this!). What's the verdict on these places?

Since you are considering the dining plan, I will post that the only CS in the Boardwalk area that accept the dining plan are:

Boardwalk Bakery
Beach Club Marketplace
Hurricane Hanna's (at the Beach/Yacht pool)
Breakfast only at the Bellevue Lounge, BW
Breakfast only at Ale & Compass Lounge, Yacht Club

I wouldn't recommend any of them for anything special. BC Marketplace has decent sandwiches. Some of the menu items look sort of interesting at Hanna's and I think they cook burgers to order there. Not all that sure, though. Hurricane Hanna's is located entirely outdoors.

Yes, I was aware of the limit of the first three you listed. I was not aware of breakfast being available at the other two on the DDP, however.

Could you get food to take out at Hurricane Hannah's or BC Martketplace?

Not looking for anything special at these places, just looking for something to grab for lunch on a day we do not care to leave the area and get onto a bus or in our car!

I've taken out from the BC marketplace many times, so I know you can get it there. As far as Hanna's it's basically a pool bar with a grill. Don't see why you couldn't carry out from there.

The Bellevue Lounge only has breakfast on occation - they've never been serving breakfast (or even staffed before 1:00) when we've been there (October).

I love the CS lunches at BC Marketplace and Boardwalk Bakery. At BC Marketplace, go for the roast beef and brie/onions. Yum!

According to the dining plan brochure and a number of things I am reading, Bellevue Lounge currently serves continental breakfast daily.

I guess that could be incorrect (I have stayed there this year but I don't ever get breakfast so I don't know if they were serving it or not) but I don't know why they would put it in the dining plan brochure and then not serve it.

That would be cool, but it would be a change from last year (its possible they were open last year and I didn't notice it) - and - of course - subject to change over the life of a DVC contract.

(A lot of us BWV owners are hoping that BWVs - or BCVs - eventually get a food court - which - over the life of the contract - could happen - or couldn't).

A food court type thing in the area would be a great idea. There isn't enough for the dining plan customers.
