QUESTION: Comp'd hoppers, staying at GCH

On our last visit, we had complimentary 3-day hoppers and stayed off-site. I thought that since we had a 3-day hopper we could do magic morning. When we got to the turnstile, the CM said we could not go in for MM because our hoppers were comp'd. Since we were staying off-site, we didn't have the benefit of being able to go in for MM either.

In June, we will have comp'd hoppers once again but will be staying at GCH. Has anyone experienced this same scenario of staying on-site, using comp'd tickets and been allowed in for MM?

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

What you experienced is not unusual. Comped tickets and other discounted types of tickets may not include a MM.

As far as your upcoming stay, if you stay at the GCH, you will be able to enter the park for MM by showing your room key. It is not associated with your park ticket. Recently there was a thread that this is at "the discretion of the hotel", but up until now, it has never been an issue, so you should be able to take advantage of MM any day it is offered so long as you are staying on-site, you'll just show your room key.

We had comp'd tickets in both 2009 and 2010, and stayed at GCH both times. We were able to get into each MM available during our stay.

We always get comp'd tickets, and have been able to get into MM each time. (and we always stay off-site!) Just visit a Guest Services desk on the Esplanade between the two parks, and make sure to bring all your tickets so you can prove you do indeed have enough tickets to warrant a MM entry.

I'm not sure what you mean. Typically the "bonus" park hopper tickets of 3 days or more including one MM. Special tickets (like military tickets or prize tickets) do not include a MM. There is nothing to prove at Guest Services. Your ticket either says it includes a MM or it doesn't.

Sj is totally correct on this. Stay on site you get mm the days that it is offered. Off site and comped your tickets will not 1 MM. No point in bring all your tickets for proof of what...it will be a waste of your time.

Have fun

The comp'd tickets we receive are employee park-hopper tickets. I take them to Guest Services, and explain that while they are single-day park hopper tickets, we have 6 and we intend to be at the Disneyland Resort for 3 or more days, and they are able to give us a MM pass. Maybe it's my charm and manners?? Anyways, we have never had a problem, and always received a MM pass with our comp'd tix.

Yes, you had a generous CM that gave you something special. It is not something you're entitled to, and the number of total tickets or the amount of time you plan to stay has nothing to do with it. I'd suspect because they were CM comp tickets, the CM working gave you a little something special.

My experience is that the CM has to sign you into the parks each day. Maybe the rules have changed
