Question, can't get S/D to call me, am I being unreasonable?

I love that response. There's a world of difference. YEP! He does not have animals out his windows. LOL! It sounds like this guy has a VERY inflated view of his hotel in the world. It's not like you were asking him to match a rate at the All Stars!

I have stayed at the Swan/Dolphin and while they are nice, they are NOT the best hotels in the world and this guy needs to figure that out. LOL!
 
I would still write that letter to corporate. You're getting raked IMHO.

Just because you didn't take him up on it at the time doesn't mean taht you are willing to not use it in the future. The offer was put on the table, they are wrong to take it back.

Again, I'm sorry for what happened.

I am not happy with the treatment you have been given by the S/D. A truly bad experience, being blamed for it as if it was your fault and then the run around when it comes to a special offer.

Write a letter to Starwood. Attach this thread if you can.

I think your situation was handled completely unprofessionally by the hotel.

I would never stay there again.
