question bout flight- not a plane change, just a stop..

DH, DBIL, DFIL and one of DH's employee's will be flying to JAX from BDL on the same first leg flight that Me, DM, DD's will be on to ELP...

We change planes in BWI, DH and that crew do not change planes.

When we land in BWI- can DH get off the plane???? Or does he have to stay there? We've only got 1 hr 15 minutes lay over, I'm not wanting him to stay with us for that etc.. however, it would be nice if DH could come off the plane and say goodbye to DD's and I in the terminal...

whats the policy on this? We're flying SW if that matters.

mudnuri,If they are just touching down in BWI and not switching planes then they do stay on the plane while passengers are loaded on then they back up and leave...
We took Southwest with a touchdown in BWI to load passengers on and we were only on the ground for around 45 minutes before we backed out of the gate and left.....
It's a quick process for Southwest so nobody gets off the plane...
If anyone else knows otherwise please jump in....

It is possible you may be able to leave the plane but I would not walk all the way to the main terminal. It might take awhile to get back in through security.

All i want him to do is leave the plane- walk up the ramp into the gate area- and say goodbye to us..

I think that will work...there will be 3 of them left on the plane to keep his seat.

I've been on USAirways flights that were continuing on and the flight attendant said you can leave the plane, just put any thing you want to stay on the plane in the overhead (not under the seat) and be sure to have your boarding pass to re-enter.
