Hi,

I was got my cc bill and was charged 63.97 for DD and myself for a breakfast at CRT. What is the tax in Florida? Was the tip included in this price? I believe the prices were 31.99 and 21.99.

Sorry, just a little confused. I was under the impression when I booked that I would only be billed if I didn't give 24 hours cancellation notice. It will be nice to pay for it now and not worry about it at the time.

If anyone knows if the tip is included in the price I would love to know. I wouldn't want to walk out and not leave one if it wasn't included!

Thanks so much :tink:

Sorry, I don't know about the tax rate, but that does not include tip as far as I know. It became pre-pay on Feb. 1.

Is it 11%??.......not sure. I was billed $114.63 for three adults and added an extra child for $25.76.

Cinderella's Royal Table - Located on the second floor of Cinderella Castle this restaurant serves the Once Upon A Breakfast character breakfast every morning. Characters vary, but almost always include Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother and may include Belle, Jasmine and Snow White.

Beginning February 1, 2006, dining at Cinderella's Royal Table will undergo several changes:

-- Breakfast and Lunch will continue as Disney Princess-themed character meals. However, when you arrive at Cinderella Castle for your reservation, a photographer will be on hand to take pictures of your group in the lobby, before you are seated in the dining room. A package with four 4x6 prints and one 6x8 print of your photo, as well as one 6x8 print of Cinderella Castle, in a Cinderella photo holder (valued at $29.95 plus tax) will be delivered to you during your meal, which will be from a fixed-price, set menu. (Additional photos may be purchased.)

Breakfast: $31.99 ages 10 and up; $21.99 ages 3-9.

Lunch: $33.99 ages 10 and up; $22.99 ages 3-9.

-- Dinner will become a fixed-price, set meal, also, hosted by the Fairy Godmother, who will lead the observance of special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries. You will also have the chance to have your photo taken before dining, with a photo package similar to that mentioned above offered to you during the meal. In addition, you will receive a special, unframed, unmatted lithograph (worth $50), given exclusively to diners at Cinderella's Royal Table Dinner. Dinner: $39.99 ages 10 and up; $24.99 ages 3-9.

NOTE: Once these changes go into effect (February 1, 2006), payment in full with a credit card will be required at the time of booking for all meals at Cinderella's Royal Table. If you do not have a credit card, the reservation cannot be made. All reservations for dining at Cinderella's Royal Table prior to February 1, 2006, will follow current pricing and deposit payment policies.

Magic Your Way Plus Dining Plan WILL be accepted at Cinderella's Royal Table meals, requiring TWO table service credits.

Advance Reservation is a must. This is the hardest Character Meal to get a Reservation for! If you want to see Cinderella and can't get in here or want a less expensive meal, try her Royal Gala Feast at 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian.

Sounds like you are getting charged 2 adults(how old is your daughter?)

It's a prepaid meal. The 24 hr. cancellation is for a refund.

She was charged the correct (very expensive) prices.

I think the tip is also included now too, but I'm not sure.
I was charged 81.20 for two at lunch and that has to include the tip and the tax.

Hi

I queried this with disney by e-mail a few months ago as I thought I had been over charged too.

They replied that the pre-payment does include the tax and the gratuity. So there is nothing else to pay. :yay:

Thanks so much! I was trying to figure out what the tax would be and this makes sense! :flower3:

Does anyone else find it frustrating when they automatically include a gratuity? I thought a gratuity was an optional "thank you for your great service" not a way to raise prices 15%.... :confused3

They charged you 18%. The sales tax at Disney is 6.5% Charging an automatic 18% for tip seems wrong, just another reason not to do the new CRT.

15-18% has become pretty standard tip amount in the industry. I' would guess that Disney has started doing this for a couple of reasons: too many people were leaving a dollar or two and the servers were not making any money other than the 2 something an hour paid to service employees. It's pretty difficult to retain cast members when they are not making any money.

That being said, if after the meal you feel that the service does not warrant an 18% gratuity, I'm sure after a brief discussion with a manager you could get that changed. Plus, it helps the manager pinpoint servers that may need additional training versus the "old" way where someone would just leave a measly tip and walk out; never reporting the poor service to the manager.

I was charged 81.20
It's not 15%, but a tad less, like 12.5% which seems odd to me.
I can't figure out how else they reached 81.20 for 2 for lunch with 6.5% tax

I was charged 191 plus change for 5 adults for breakfast. I assumed that that was the price plus tax. Guess I need to refigure to see if tip was included. Thanks for the heads up!

Don't get me wrong. I totally believe in tipping by why say its $31.99 for adults and then automatically add the tip. Why not just say its $40 tax and tip included? What I meant by my previous statement was I didn't think it was fair for Disney to add it (not that the wait staff shouldn't be tipped). HDDR everything is covered in the price (we still leave extra because service is always great). HDDR Cost - $50.22 for adults and $25.43 for children 3-9; tax and gratuity included. Sorry if I didn't phrase it right before.

The numbers don't seem to work out with 6.5% tax and 18% tip. Could you call and ask for a breakdown of the charges?

I priced it for 2A and got a total of 81.40....67.98 for the meal (33.99 times 2)...tax is 4.42 and gratuity is 9.00.

Hope this helps!

I see! I understand what you're saying and it makes sense. Maybe they will do that in the near future then to avoid confusion.
