Question?...Best way to combine DVC home resort consecutive reservations?

I've tried searching the forums and I only found three results for the best way to combine single reservations of the same type. I tried booking at my home resort at 11-months out for a Handicap Roll-in Shower Standard Studio at BWV.

I realize that BoardWalk Villa standard studios can go fast and that some guests walk their reservations, but this year, the walkers must have started almost two weeks in advance based on my search for availability every day for eleven days.

No availability for each day starting for reservation starting on 12/01/2019. I made a Waitlist, but I kept trying each day with no success until 12/11/2019. One showed up for 12/10/2019.

I made a reservation, but I was unable to book any further than that one day.

I did the same thing each day, only able to make reservations one day at a time when it showed up and unable to make any future days.

I presume that maybe guests were giving up one day at a time the studio that I wanted. Sometimes after making my one-day reservation, no others showed up. Other times there was availability for more days for someone else.

Also, some days started showing up for the first week in December 2019, but I had more luck after 12/10/2019 reservation.

There was one day that nothing showed up until two days showed up after the second day and I made a reservation.

I did this every day until yesterday and I was able to use all of my points.

Now I would like to see if I can combine all these reservations into one reservation.

Each reservation is at my home resort.

Each reservation is for a Handicap Roll-in Shower Standard Studio.

Any experience with this type of situation?

I sent the DVC an email, and I will probably call later today or tomorrow to DVC.

Any suggestions or past experiences would be appreciated.

Easiest, IMO, is to just call MS. Verify that resulting reservation is for a SV HA studio.

I generally email, even though it takes a while to type all the details MS needs. That way, you get a written response. It may take a few days, but you have plenty of time.

There’s a decent chance it’ll get combined without your doing anything.

But if you call and ask MS to do it, they will.

Hi, CarolMN. Thank you. I like written responses, too. I sent an email from the DVC website. It was located next to the chat and phone number buttons. It didn't show an actual email, but it went through. I didn't actually see any email. I presume this is what you did. If you have another email address, I must have missed that in my search. Thank you.

Hi, mustinjourney. Thank you. That would be nice.

Hi, js. Thank you. I will do that tomorrow if I don't hear back from my email first.

Yes, that's what I do - send the email via the website as you describe. I get an "acknowledgement" email back fairly quickly. After a few days (sometimes just one), I get another email response letting me know they have made the requested change(s). They attach my original request to this response.

Alternative is to use the chat feature, that's my favourite. When it's finished you can request a copy to be emailed and it comes straight away. That way you get it in writing and it's not sat in a queue to be dealt with

Hi, Wakey. Thank you.

I decided to use chat this afternoon and I was able to save the transcript. The cast member said he would send it to someone, I don't remember, to make into one reservation and that I would receive a new email reservation.

A couple of hours later, I was checking for some other days to book and I saw on my DVC Dashboard the new reservation number for the combined reservations, and the other nine reservations were gone.

I think the email, as mentioned earlier, would probably take a few days. I was very surprised how easy the chat was to get a response to and to receive a transcript and to have the reservation show up on my DVC Dashboard.

Thank you, everyone.

I just received my email confirmation. It might have been from the email or the chat conversation. Either way, it was pretty quick and very easy.

Thank you, everyone, for all of your help.

I just received another email saying another cast member had already made changes to my reservation. This was from the email that I had sent first before trying chat.

So via the chat, I received almost immediate resolution, and via the email, it took about four days for a response.

It really didn't make any difference to me who helped me combining all of my reservations, but I liked the chat version with the live cast member and the transcript via email.

And to be honest, you never know if you are going to be helped by a newbie or an experienced cast member. I guess that I was lucky and received help from two experienced cast members. That is not always true by phone.

I do like the transcript of the chat conversation sent to my email for my records.

I usually copy and past my reservations to my notes. I then erase parts of the notes to just include the resort name, dates of reservation, the reservation confirmation number, the points used and points remaining. I do the same for non-DVC resorts, but I add the cost for each night, subtotal, taxes, paid that day, and what is due at check-in.

It made it easy to copy and paste all of my DVC reservations to the chat conference.

Again, thank you, everyone, for all of your help.

Yes good one. I think the chat feature is under utilised and it’s the best way to contact them by far. I emailed member accounting about something 2 weeks ago, and got a reply today! I couldn’t do chat with member accounting....
